I still can't connect to the official servers. I'm still getting the same error

Hello,

I would like to ask if this issue is still being actively investigated and whether you are working to identify the cause. Many players, including myself, are still unable to connect to the official servers. I keep getting the exact same error every time.I recently downloaded a small update, but unfortunately it didn’t resolve the problem.I really hope I’ll be able to play Conan Exiles again someday because this connection issue with my account has been ongoing since June 24. As far as I know, I’m not the only one affected—many other players are experiencing the same problem. I understand that this is not an easy issue to diagnose or fix. However, after looking through the forums, I noticed that a similar problem occurred several years ago. That’s why I wanted to ask whether the team is actively working on finding the cause and resolving it.I would really like to get back to playing, but at the moment I have no way to connect to the official servers. I’ve attached a few screenshots showing the error message I’m receiving. Thank you very much for your time and response. Have a great evening.

Even after restarting the game, verifying the game files, reinstalling the game, and uninstalling and reinstalling BattlEye, the issue still persists. None of these steps have fixed the problem.Thank you very much.

Sobtheir is a suspension pop up. Is that part of the bug, or didbyou get a timeout? Not poking, but asking. Because a suspension denoes acvess to officials for a period of time.

No, it isn’t a ban or an account suspension. It’s simply a technical issue that they’re already investigating, although they’ve been working on it for about 14 days now. That’s why I was asking if they’re still actively working on it. From what I’ve seen, players experienced a very similar issue back in 2023 after one of the Conan Exiles updates. So no, it isn’t a ban, and I haven’t violated any rules or terms. I’m confident of that. Here are more reports from players who are experiencing the same problem as I am: Authentication failed when joining official server how do I fix it? I can not join - #26 by DSMESS

was just asking if there has been any progress because I’d really like to play Conan Exiles again. Unfortunately, I still keep getting this error message, which is not a ban or an account suspension, so it looks like I won’t be able to play anytime soon. It’s also clearly stated in the screenshot.Thank you for your reply, and have a nice day.

The post you linked is from 2023, and was referencing an issue that was impacting loads of players. Since we haven’t had a recent influx of players reporting this same issue, it’s not likely to be the exact same issue.

Searching the forums, recent reports of the error seem to be related to account suspensions. This is most likely the case with you as well. Have you tried reaching out to their support team - Contact Us — Conan Exiles Help Center

If you aren’t banned, they’ll be able to tell you and potentially give you details on what’s going on to resolve the issue, and if you are banned, then you’ll be able to appeal

I haven’t done anything wrong, so I don’t understand why my account would be suspended. It simply doesn’t make any sense. When I contacted support, they told me they would get back to me after I completed the form you linked here. Thank you for your advice anyway. At this point, I honestly have no idea what is going on.The forum topic where I pointed out that many other players were experiencing the same problem was deleted. I don’t know why. First it was locked, and then it was removed completely. It almost feels like they want to hide the issue. If I really did something wrong, I would like to know what I supposedly did that was so serious that my account was suspended, or why it doesn’t work at all. None of this makes any sense to me.This approach is really disappointing. I can’t get any clear information or help because it seems like nobody wants to assist. Thank you again for your advice, and I wish you a nice day.At this point, it looks like I may never be able to play Conan Exiles again, even though I haven’t done anything wrong..Have a great day.David

This doesn’t look like a timeout or a ban. If I were banned, it should clearly say that my account is banned and provide a reason why I can’t connect to the official servers. The only thing that doesn’t make sense is the possibility that my account has been suspended, because I haven’t broken any rules. So I honestly don’t know where the problem is.

The forum topic where I described this same issue, along with several comments from other players who were experiencing the exact same problem, was deleted for some reason. It feels like it was removed so people wouldn’t know about the issue or so it wouldn’t spread further. Unless I’m mistaken, it was my own topic and my own post that someone deleted. If this is how they handle things, and this is the kind of policy they have toward their players, then I honestly don’t see much reason to keep playing Conan Exiles. This situation feels very unfair, and I simply can’t understand it.Thank you for your advice and suggestions. I really appreciate your help.Have a great day.

That all poins more toward a game-side or authentication service issue rather than a standard account ban

Easy test. Find a random private server, and try to connect. If you can connect on the private, then you know it’s an issue with your account on officials.

a lot of time i go connection failed and some times kicked by battle usually after a few tries i can login, except last week i was thrown at the left most desert reswpam and got bugged by two days, till i used another account to help to unstuck my main char.

I can join private servers without any problems, and even if I create a single-player game, everything works normally. However, there was another update recently, and I still can’t connect to any official server. At this point, I honestly don’t know what else to do. I’m 100% sure that I am neither banned nor is my account suspended. A friend of mine who has been playing Conan Exiles for a long time believes it’s a problem on the developers’ side. He thinks there’s an issue with the authentication or database connection between my account and the service that verifies accounts when connecting to official servers. So it looks like I might be done with the game, because I really have no more ideas about what else I can try.Thank you for all your advice, and have a great evening.

I read through this entire discussion because I have exactly the same problem that many other players are experiencing. The frustrating part is that we cannot defend ourselves, and the support team does not provide a clear answer about what is happening or allow us to explain our side. This is an example of how someone can own the game and all of its DLCs, and then suddenly lose access to the official servers without any explanation. Is this a bug or a mistake? Personally, I believe this is a serious mistake, and everyone experiencing the same issue deserves a proper investigation.Right now, I feel like I have become a victim of an automated system, even though I have done nothing wrong.I wish everyone a wonderful evening, and thank you all for your advice and support.
Here : Access denied after server crash - #90 by Anarkia777

That thread was from someone who was banned for previous infractions. With the update to UE5 they became unbanned (which was actually the error), and thought that meant they were now supposed to be unbanned. When their ban went back into effect, they complained a lot and eventually (supposedly) Funcom relented and rescinded their ban. (I say supposedly, because they also made a number of obviously false claims about involving lawyers - since a ban only affects access to official servers, and does not actually prevent playing the game, their claims that lawyers would be willing to argue in court that they were being prevented from using a purchased product were either false statements about the lawyers, or they had made false statements to the lawyers about the meaning of a ban.) ( I say this only to suggest that you should be careful how much you read into the statements made by the original poster on that thread.)

As to your own situation - You are reasonably certain that you have never received a ban or suspension, and that seems plausible. It seems very likely that your situation is being caused by an error with Funcom Live Services not being able to correctly validate your account. There is one other possibility to eliminate - have you ever been a member of a clan with other people? Is it possible that one of them could have commited an infraction resulting in a ban? (The way the rules work, all members of a clan are banned for the actions of one member - to encourage players to keep their clan mates in line.)

Assuming that you have not been banned for actions of a clan mate - I would suggest that the only option available to you is to contact helpshift Contact Us — Conan Exiles Help Center and request help with your account problems (they should also be able to confirm if you have been banned/suspended - for suspensions there is no appeal, but they end naturally; for bans there is a right of appeal - though obviously no guarantee that will work). After you send the initial ticket, you should receive some sort of automated email reply. Make sure to reply to that email and request that a human representative look into your case. Hopefully that should help keep the ticket from getting automatically closed by a bot.

Hopefully some part of this helps.

Hello,

No, I was not part of any other clan or involved in anything like that. My teammates have not broken any rules either.I play alone on Server 1030. Occasionally, a female friend helps me, and the two of us also play together on Server 1159. On Server 1030, I am the only remaining member because my colleagues from work no longer play there. So honestly, I don’t know what I should do in this situation.I have already contacted support twice to ask whether my account has been banned, but each time I only received an automated reply. In my support requests, I provided all the necessary information, including my server numbers, my nickname on both servers, my Steam ID, a link to my Steam profile, and my clan name.Unfortunately, I still haven’t received a proper explanation for something I don’t believe I have done. I honestly don’t know whether this is a game bug or some kind of mistake.I can still play normally on private servers and in single-player mode. In fact, just before this problem started, I was even able to join a different official server once. After that, however, I have not been able to connect to any official server at all.So I really don’t know what else I should do. To be honest, this situation has made me genuinely upset and frustrated. Thank you very much for your help.I wish you a wonderful evening.David

Hello,

Since June 23, I have been unable to connect to any official Conan Exiles server. It seems as if there is a problem with the Funcom account database or a synchronization issue between my Steam account and the Conan Exiles account database.

I honestly don’t know what else to do. This problem has been ongoing since June 23.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

The game first displays this error:

ACCESS DENIED
Failed to retrieve suspension information.

After that, it shows:

CONNECTION FAILED
Could not connect to the server. “Join Session” failed. If this continues to happen, try restarting the game.

In my opinion, the support team should check the status of my account directly in the Funcom database and investigate why the game returns the error “Failed to retrieve suspension information.” This message may provide their technicians with much more useful information than the generic “Connection Failed” error.I may be wrong, but this explanation seems much more likely than anything else I have been able to think of.Thank you very much for your time.

Have a great evening.

David

As I mentioned above - make sure to reply to the automated reply to request that a human representative look into your case - I don’t know for sure that will do any good either, but it is something I have seen recommended many times to make sure that the support ticket does not get automatically closed by a bot.

My opinion (not fact) is that this is a bug with Funcom Live Services, which I think is what your friend was also suggesting (which you mentioned in your reply to Wookiieeeeeee). It looks like it is somehow failing to correctly validate your right to play on official servers and is somehow incorrectly treating you as if you are banned.

I assume you have also tried the obvious things such as verifying your game files on Steam (just to check that there is nothing somehow corrupted in the game files causing this) - I doubt that is the solution, but it would be worth trying if you haven’t. Similarly, it would be a good idea to make sure your drivers are up to date (notably GPU driver, but also I saw a post the other day about an issue someone was having that was only finally solved by updating their bios - different problem, but maybe still worth looking into).

I suspect that the only actual chance for a solution is likely to be helpshift as mentioned before (and, as mentioned before, make sure to reply to the automated reply they sent). It really does sound like the problem is some sort of error at their end, which would require them to fix it.

Failing that, the only other thing I can suggest is to maybe consider finding yourself a friendly private server to play on - I know very little about what is available, but have often heard good things and I know many players prefer private servers over the officials. Or there is always singleplayer (which is how I prefer to play), which avoids all of the issues with servers official or private. (If your friend wished to still help out from time to time, you can always switch into co-op mode and let them join your world - though that would mean that the tether becomes active so they would have to stay within a certain range of you while playing. If the tether is too limiting, and you have suitable understanding, there is also a Dedicated Server Tool available which can run a private server on your own machine, (and still play on the same machine) which would enable the two of you to play together without the tether.)

I have the same issues but it ONLY EFFECTS ONE official server. I can get on any other server but this one. My clanmates think there is a cheater that is blocking me from connecting to that server. I have sent funcom a report got an automated recording but no word yes

I am permanently banned from officials and that’s the same message I get if I try to join

Hi, how did you resolve this problem? I can’t connect to any official server at all, and I usually play on servers 1030 and 1159. At this point, I honestly have no idea what else to do. I’m certain the problem isn’t on my side or with my internet connection. I just don’t understand what’s causing it anymore. It’s really starting to frustrate me. Have a nice evening.
