After the June patch: Failure Received: Authentication failed!

Game mode: Online private |
Type of issue: Performance |
Server type: PvP |
Region: EU |

Hello,

After the big June patch, where Funcom liveserves was introduced, we started to have some private server issues. Our server doesn’t show up on any of the options. History, favorite etc. So, we had to use direct connect which seems to be a gamble if you get in or not. We get the, ‘Failure Receiverd: Authentication Failed!’ notice. Sometimes for more than 10 times attempting to get it.

Things I’ve tried to fix it.

  • Firewall
  • File check
  • Steam settings (like max ping servers to 500)
  • Reïnstall
  • Restarting server
  • Looked for the answer on the forms.

Nothing seem to work, so we hope to get some professional help here.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
<server doesn’t show up anywhere> so,

  1. Direct connect
  2. Server IP
  3. Password
  4. Failure Received: Athentication failed!
    or
  5. We can join the game

Kind regards,

Out of curiousity, is your server hosted by Nitrado or Dawn-Servers?

Nitrado indeed

They seem to be one of the few providers having this issue. Perhaps something with their server configuration. They claim it is on Funcom’s end but other hosts are doing just fine.

I also have a Nitrado server and have been having the same issue. Makes sense that it could be server host related.

You could ask Nitrado if their servers have TLS 1.2 access.

Thank you for your reponds! I will ask Nitrado what’s up.
If this is the solution, I’ll let you know.

I am also having Authentication errors, server reboots, and kicks from Nitrado. They said it was Funcom’s fault and that I should switch to playing another game. I have always had good service from them, but this is frustrating.
