Did you watched the live? They’ve mentioned that the limit will be increased…
No. They mentioned that the limit adjustments will be pending QA testing. Which likely means that the limits will be reduced. Which will cause random thrall deletions.
It won’t be as bad as that sounds. The thrall will remain in inventory until placed and then that will count in your thrall limit. So it’s not like you’re going to log in during aoh live and lose random thralls immediately. You can prepare and weed out the junk ones to allow space for your crafters. I do suspect that the bonuses of the crafters will not be present until they are placed in the new set up.
@Pugilist cited a previous thread where random thrall deletions have happened before. It will happen again. If you’ve not witnessed what this studio has done to its players comprehensively since launch - then you are not paying attention.
That was a different scenario when you had unlimited and the put a limit down, there will be reduction at the point of log in. The only way this will be an auto thing is if they do actually reduce the limit of thralls again (still likely but not definite yet) . The switching crafters thralls from inventory to active won’t since thralls in inventory aren’t part of you limit.
You here that, Exiles and Islanders? Go ahead and prepare. Weed out the junk ones. It’s as simple as that! Go ahead and walk around your property, and just start cutting throats. It’s imperative that we make room for the artisans who do the real work here. Right, @erjoh ? None of these bozos are beloved. Just start murdering the JUNK ONES. FOR THE AGE OF HEROS!
Why prepare when the new limit has not been established yet?
Look, I’ve been quiet so far because I’m also not a big fan of this update, but please, how on earth do you plan on luring a boss in the middle of a dungeon all the way out and all the way to someone’s base???
And that’s assuming they don’t just close the door. Thralls dying is a very real and valid issue on pvp, but on pve the only danger they face is if you don’t have your door closed or a purge.
I presumed that it was some kind of an underhanded exploit that I wasn’t familiar with.
Heroes is the word you’re looking for
Ummm yeah. Considering I lost all active thralls during server mergers I had for years, you aren’t going to get much sympathy from me about their importance in the game. Importance to YOUR game, sure I guess. But I have learned to care about thralls as much as I care about a foundation piece.
As for humanizing digital elements…do you do the same with NPCs that are sacrificed for sorcery? Treat the players like evil uncaring folks? No? How about the slave driving all players had to perform to get those thralls? Oh that’s different too huh? Then spare me your compassion for digital content and trying to paint this in some weird ethical crusade.
I don’t have much sympathy either in general but I do worry it is going to create some equally troubling behaviours.
In some cases though, as we’re discussing elsewhere, potentially complete changes to tactics.
Oh yeah. I see significant changes in strategies in PVP will be needed. Assuming they will as I can’t speak for other but PS PVP player counts are getting capital T thin. I don’t know if the remaining will be into changing things up or not.
I do fear this is the nail in the coffin.
“Your Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while all the Company is true.”

I see from the ruins of old PVP, a potential to restart.
Yeah this is a joke, all the new features are annoyance and lag inducing.
They don’t care to understand the state of the game.
We gain nothing from those features other than RP crap.
In fact we lose ability to trade crafters and increased lag and we lose thrall cap spaces.
GG funcom
They won’t be able to level up , Dennis said this.
It might changes in the future but as it stands, at release they won’t be able.
And if they fight will be dependent on their profession. Somewhat like a bladesmith will fight while a cook will flee…
Instead of DNBO we should be able to resurrect followers at the circle of power.
When we open it it could show a list of all followers we ever had and we could decide which ones to resurrect.
And of course we should also be able to delete followers from that list to keep the list small.
This one would very much like the ability to make horrid undead mockeries of fallen thralls.
They die once, as a dark sorcerer they can be brought back in either a fully corrupted looking or undead looking form.
If they die again, they’re done.
Or can be summoned as placeable ghosts that don’t do anything other than take up follower slots. Like house cats.
Just put all of your crafter thralls in a box or in your inventory before the AoH update.
