That is fair.
Antagonist may be a better term.
That said, Conan antagonists scores the many media and decades have many broad stereotypes and groupings, many of which are very prominent character advancement options in game.

Get hyped then disappointed, just like the sorcery with no magic :))
I mean, work hard to unlock all spells, craft pouches, ruin your build with that corruption eating away your stamina and health, and cast some spells that add nothing to your playstyle.
Lets hope the new Age brings something that can be integrated into actual gameplay, rather than being too lore friendly and cosmetic.
And donāt get me started on golems.
I find I am using magic increasingly often. However, until they fix spell keybind issues, that will always be too much of a hindrance to use them regularly.
This is what Iād like to see from the next age. An age of war. Where Relic Hunters might invade the Mounds of the Dead. Or Darfari raid the Black Galleon. The Silent Legion attack Assgarden.
Could be events announced on the server and you could pick a side. Like a purge against a faction by another.
Could contain new siege equipment, purge thralls and war beasts.
Not sure the current severs would handle it, but its an idea.
No we donāt. We want a game with true-to-lore magic and thatās what we got. Just check the original source material.
Imagine the reaction if it turned out that the next age really is the Age of the Amazon, and Den just had a fake fake spoiler on his screen to throw us off the loop. Because no-one would expect him to be that careless.(Well, I guess many of us did.)
Dennis is crafty
If you do a quick search, there are several forum users who asked for lore-friendly magic, so Bodinās statement is equally valid.
Neither of you speak for the majority. You both speak for yourself, and use anecdotal evidence (rather than any statistical data on player preferences) to support your claims.
Youāre derailing the topic. Take your petty rant for lore-unfriendly magic that nobody agrees with elsewhere before you get the thread locked.
Funcom didnt crowd source the sorcery system; its their design. Imo it was the right choice, but my opinion is not relevant to their game design decisions when it comes to sorcery. All you have to do is listen to the sorcery devstream (and following streams) to see what is potentially part of sorcery and what is not thematically. So they may hear what people say (they read a lot of these threads) and see what people think and tweak, but core game concepts wonāt be changed. We wonāt have orcs and elves for exampleā¦ everyone including jimbo could clamor for elves and it just wonāt happen.
Iāve played this game for 4 years, enough to know how Funcom listens to the community. As a result of that they nerfed the Purge, and the Maelstrom into the ground. They changed nighttime lightning back and forth. They added humans to SIptah which was a major switch from their lore vision.
With what Iāve seen so far, things are subject to change in Conan Exiles, always, regardless of topic. We just need more diverse opinions in this forum and people to speak their minds, without being censored by fanboism.
I just donāt like sorcery we have right now, at all. Thereās zero interest for me to use it. Iām hoping the next Age of Amazon or whatever will have some new spells added that deal some damage.
This I do understand. Iād even go further and say that if there are direct damage spells in the stories, Iād encourage people to highlight them. You are right that they will change things for a more popular appeal, but it still has always stayed on theme. They do respond to feedback with changes but that feedback is easier to act on when it is on theme.
Age of ātelekinetically rip your enemyās heart out of their chestā spells? Thatās pretty much the only one that I can remember that couldnāt be represented with alchemy, from People of the Black Circle. The same people were able to use the hair of a Vendhyan king to curse him to get sick and eventually die, but Iām not sure how this sort of magic could translate into useable spells in the game. Long-term afflictions would be a negative play experience rather than an interesting feature.
I wish we had disease and stuff but I understand that it may make for a game most would find tiresomeā¦
Oh I know that game as She-fox
That was the German name
I can not understand why people want this. I am happy that they not made sorcery like nearly every other game do it. Fireballs and only distance fights. And you just see some colored haze that goes from everyone.
I like this game because itās a real combat and also has no guns. I hate shooter games. I would like to play ark but because of the weapons I donāt want it.
Elder scrollsā¦ Looks nice but this throwing fireballs and thunder on enemies is boring. This is what every game looks like with sorceryā¦
Conan notā¦ And that was a great decision I can live with. Even if I donāt use the spells I have no problem that they exist.
I really hope this would never happen to Conan exilesā¦
Back to topic
I heard that it could be the age of triple jump
Greetings Exiles,
Please keep the discussion healthy and safe. This is all speculation and everyone is welcome to share their ideas. However, be respectful or we will have to shut it down.
Make sure to read and understand the forumās Social guidelines before proceeding.
News on the new Age will arrive soon, be excellent to each other and have fun.
I would hope for an Age of Rebellion or Age of Resistance, when you can fight against the slavers, etc. I want to get my band of heroes, dang it.
Now that we are getting some teaser trailersā¦it seems that the Age of the Amazons could be legit! I was noticing some possible references to the stories by Robert E Howard, āVale of the Lost Womenā and āQueen of the Black Coastā. Iād love to see more references to Belit in the game.
