Exactly. Which is why i said lore is what FC needs it to be. That is not a knock aganst them, yet yiu chose to reply abd disect my post. So i was assuming you were saying i was wrong. My oist was a generalization to not use lore as a lock and creativity, or a tool to add something just because it should exist. Add stuff the falls in line with idea of the universe created is the best way to describe lore.
Ahh, the one true villian of npcs
My point being, is dragons could, i mean could not should, be tamed based on all the other tames we have (locusts, spiders, crocs). Lore should not be the reason not to. It should be because it doesnt really add to gameplay. As @LostBrythunian said, in theory as sorcerers we could have a dragon. Maybe as part of the undead we conjure likenthe mount etc. And it is okay to not like an idea, and not vreate a hardline of lore or not. If you dont like dragons as tames, then just say âi dont want dragons as tamesâ
Final thing on tamed Dragons, they more than likely exist. Purges have them mixed with humans. And they dont kill the humans. So that is sort of tamed imo.
Iâm staying out of the lore stuff and stay on the functional side of it.
How many of you all got stuck between a doorway and your mountâŠnow imagine that mount being a dragon. That right there should scream donât do it
This one would note we are not the only villains.
There are plenty of corpses scattered around various camps. In some there are even bodies on spikes.
Then there is the Purge. Even if we do not see it attack anyone, it is known to somebody the few communicative people in the Exiled Lands.
Even if not directly witnessed, there is much evidence.
Perhaps this oneâs favourite is on Siptah.
In a camp that has no map marker, on the altar where a sorcerer spawns, there is a corpse with a stone cleave embedded right between their legs. No other injuries are apparent.
Very gruesome.
Very atmospheric.
But that said, the options for advancement in the game are weighted heavily into the building walls, chains, and pacts with evil powers.
The stat revamp and thrall nerf did take the âone right wayâ is to be the most discerning slaver off itâs pedestal. In itâs place there is more option for the stand alone master of combative arts, which can balance with the sorcery. Thatâs a Mea Culpa.
As for the âmightyâ Giant Kings.
They lost.
Serpent treachery helped⊠But Lemurian magic was the mightier. The shattered springs show how much greater the magic of the Giant Kings was than that of Man.
Mere humans indeed.
Toth Amon has subverted the magic of the bracelet.
Oh, and now we have their crystalized blood to use in our own unwholesome pursuits.
The small minded Giant Kings trusted in one dark god.
The Exile may be a great and terrible priest pacted to (what are probably hallucinations or maybe manifestations out of the Disjunction) Set as well as Zath, Yog, and Jhebbal Sag.
Now most of that is jesting hyperboleâŠ
But the power, and especially competence, of the Giant Kings in the canon of the Exiled Lands is all over the place in itâs inconsistency.
The same then goes for my dragons if you wanna argue that way.
All the next age threads in this forum invite people to come join and discuss what they wish the game would have. Its a game with fictional characters that plays in a fictional world with fictional creatures in it. None of us knows what the creator of Conan thought can or can not exist in his world.
Golems are not in the lore as well, as far as I know, and yet here we are⊠5 years later with golems in the game.
I apprechiate your input and respect your personal opinion. Although I think your hostility towards me is silly.
Nobody other then Funcom knows whats comming next. Everything else is just us pipe dreaming what we would love to see in the game.
There were âdragonsâ in Conan, so we do have some context for what nature of creature they were.
Golems were featured in several Conan comics. While the comics are not canon, Funcom does take inspiration from them.
We have Den stating that there will be no dragon mounts, so bringing Funcom into this question is a bit pointless. We already know their stance; it is no.
They have changed their minds a couple of times in the past. A no is just as long a no as they decide its a no.
About purge members- no one atack them only during purge but if someone survive is afrer purge prey for wildlife,
Our first base was near devil squat and one spawnpoint was in middle - during purge wolves ignore npc but once last wave run out of time and few left stuck thereâŠwolves wiped them instantly
Signs of the end time for Exiled Lands. :>
Bit that is exiles attacking us as a group
Red Nails.
This one would love to see Dragons added to the jungle and give them a more powerful knock back attack.
Also, the poison didnât quite seal the deal on killing that one but it did confirm that they drink water. Should not the Dragons in the Unnamed City be undead then, as puddles of even fetid liquid donât appear in that area?
Honestly, if they were undead, it would solve many issuesâŠ
Looks like screen on the right says Dinosaurs, Amazons, and something blurred
That game has been released 35 years ago. The âsomething blurredâ must be the cover featuring Corinne Russell, which caused some controversy back in 1988, too.
Sorry, Funcom, youâre late.
So, any more teases funcom?
Awaiting for Age of the Amazon!
I never really consider âheroâ or âvillainâ in Conan. There are simply people in Conanâs way and people that he feels like helping or are of help to him. I thought the 82 movie captured it perfectly with a âmight makes rightâ attitude⊠it just so happens we sympathize with Conan.
Prepare to be disappointed, because thatâs not what the update is.
