Any thoughts on what the next Age will be? Yes, yes we all want the Age of Bug Fixes but since we’re obviously never going to get that, we can at least, think of the next Age. I’m sure similar posts have been made regarding this topic, but humor me.
I’d like to see something along the lines of an Age of the Orient, Yamatai themed. A battle pass with more orient style items, placeables, etc. Some new building pieces/sets, new in game enemies (human and creature/animal). New dungeons, etc.
If not the above, a Savage Age would be really cool. With a More primal/prehistoric feel. A new building set making use of bone and hide.
Steering away from the topic at hand for a moment, would love to see a new building set using star metal or obsidian, or even gold and silver. A new set drawing inspiration from the overpriced chest board offered in the bazaar with the black and while “foundations”, how about a Black Kingdom building set just reskin the existing Argossean pieces.
Like all the systems that were mentioned but not in the game yet. Like the downed state for thralls and all thralls being “in the world” (so they can show up in Taverns) and proper siege mechanics for thralls on Trebs and Ballista and so forth. And that’s not even getting into bug fixes and fixing broken gameplay.
Wishful thinking my friend, wishful thinking. This IS Funcom we are talking about here. Promises and years old bug fixes translates to empty promises and bandaids. It IS funny how we all continue to piss and moan about the game, yet we continue to play and even get excited when new stuff launches. I, for one, hate how Funcom handles the game and angry over some many changes and problems, yet still enjoy the game enough to play it damn near every day. Plus IMO, it’s still the best builder on consoles that doesn’t give me a wicked headache (Minecraft). So, maybe some day bud, they will fulfill those you mentioned until then we play it or don’t.
Bug fixes aside… I have a feeling it’ll be something to do with QOL stuff. An Age of Commerce or similar is my guess. They’ve already discussed crafter thrall changes and a desire to allow player-created vendors. This is all just based upon past hints. I could be way off the mark of course… it could just as easily be something to do with religion overhauls as some have asked for as well.
I recently had a discussion about the upcoming battle pass. It seems many people are curious, and speculations are circulating widely.
In the past, DLCs/Packs always introduced a specific feature: The Savage Frontier brought PETS; Seekers of the Dawn included KATANAS, and Riders of Hyboria introduced MOUNTS.
Now, with the current expansions, there is a general theme, but there is a greater variety of items in the battle pass and bazaar. This is something I truly appreciate. Each chapter has featured items or sets that I have really enjoyed.
The idea of focusing on Pirates & Zingara has been highlighted in AoW 3+4. Introducing boat building and promoting boats as a theme could be an interesting direction, especially if it includes exotic elements. Exploring the Black Kingdoms would be appealing to me, especially if it brings in rustic or savage elements.
Considering Vendhya as a theme also sounds like a great idea. Apart from the Vendhya Treasure Hunter Set, there isn’t much else inspired by Indian culture.
It’s likely that they will continue with something that is already known or expand on existing themes. From a marketing perspective, they might lean towards something that appeals to a wider audience. I can only speculate on what this might entail.
Looking back to 21-22, there was a one-year pass for upcoming DLCs. As far as I recall, only Debaucheries of Derketo was finalized. Some aspects, like the “Secrets of Acheron,” remained a mystery. It’s possible that these elements were incorporated into the Siptah expansion and later the Age of Sorcery, which included arcane and Acheron-related content/items.
I hope they stop and just add assets to the game. Don’t touch anything else. Nearly every patch adds some game altering things that range from medium to large impacted and then it takes a month for them to sort it lut. I say stop adjusting the game. Good try but they are consistent…consistently bad at updates. Sorry but it’s true and it just ruins the experience I’ve and over and over and over and over and over ………
I personally am in the party of halting all new BPs, new bazaar items and new events until a majority of the major bugs (especially the falling through foundations one) have been fixed. There are still so many like the “cant place on non walk-able floor minions” Items disappearing from inventory, items not moving from one container to inventory and vice versa, knocked out enemies falling through the world map and much , much more.
Not for much longer. Soulmask Open Beta starts May 1 (for ten days) and goes public to Early Access starts May 31, 2024. Soulmask is basically Conan Exiles 2.0
(check it out on Steam if you haven’t heard of it yet)
Check out Wak4863’s video giving an overview of it, too:
That helmet looks totally useless in combat. As for the next Age, maybe it’ll focus on the other gods. Jhebbal Sag’s all riled up in the current Chapter, who’s to say the Stygian’s didn’t also piss off Ymir, Crom, Yog, Zath or Derketo too? Or that Set wants vengeance for taking down the Stygian army?
What i played of the demo it was a stick and rock crafting survival game. Pretty but eh.
Age of civilization.
They will intro the new craft system making the benches 3X their size now, but only do 10% of what they did.
Add the new mats from chests system where if you put the right chest next to the right bench it will take mats while crafting, from the chest. And just for fun they’re not going to tell you which goes with what.
Adding the new place thralls to dress them before placing them on the bench mechanic. In fact you will have to set them in the world were they can be counted, before you put them on their bench. Maybe.
As well as adding hiring thralls from your bar, when they show up. Bar full of broke lazy artisans, can’t wait.
Trying to think of some of the other stuff they’ve talked about.
Of coarse the quarterly thrall, pet, weapon, armor, NPC “rebalancing”.
I suspect that the new Age will be something to do with religion. The Sacred Hunt makes me think that perhaps there will be similar events for all the religions.
I am really excited about Soul Mask. I downloaded the demo today. It has many exciting features. That being said, from what I’ve seen of Wak’s videos, combat seems really rather clunky in comparison to Conan. Character animations are strange as well. But I’m willing to give it a try.
