Age of abolishing the Battlepass/Bazar.
This one speculates it will either be an Age of Theocrappery or an Age of Civilization, ancient and reeking.
The Tavern and the Hunt are both out of place of prime features of an Age of War.
One speaks to society, the other to religion
Religiocity could easily be a part and parcel of the Age of Hiding behind walls.
The faith system has been steadily eroded for awhile and is in dire need of reexamining, something the devs have mentioned they want to do anyway.
Thralls, specifically how they are sorted and placed, piloted with the Tavernkeeper, is another point. Then we have the inventory and dyer enshittification which speaks to a will to rewrite even more of the crafting and dollhouse management part of the game.
Just call it a hunch… but I have a feeling the dye options will either be reverted or given an overhaul. They’d have to blind to not know everyone hates it. Btw, I tried it for the first time today (after replacing my stuff AGAIN) and noticed the preview image is all blurry like when you tried to dye something while having a container open before. Surely I’m not the only one seeing this piss poor quality. How do I dye anything affectively when I can barely see it?
Yeah, I noticed this as well. Hmmm.
I wonder if a paint kit will be easy to get for starters.
It most likely be Age of Gods, the Altar system needs to be more robust and actual powers for the player, throw in more ritual for sorcery, and melee combat could probably work on blocking with weapons not just shield too.
I have seen Pax dai as well, they really need to clean up their act because other mmo like conan are around the corner.
Oh gosh no! Please no more messing with the combat! ![]()
Combat is like 90% of the game interactions so odds are very likely that any changes done will be in combat.
Age of builders.
In this age They Will try to break the building systen. Since it appears to be the only and last part of the Game they can ruin.
I wish for age of fixes but they won’t. Why ? They Will have to admit the Game is broken , nope it won’t happen.
I was convinced it was going to be age of gods when age of war was announced and until recently I thought that would be the case for this next update. Given with how much they appear to be struggling lately I don’t think I’d want them to touch age of gods until they have the resources to do it right.
I think it will be something like an age of civilization, by another official name probably but the core I expect to be the “settlement system” as it was originally referred. The settlement system and sorcery had been goals from the start, so it makes sense to me. Religion is a part of the civilization so I don’t imply that’s excluded. All the changes to inventory, the tavern keeper, the initial harvesting golem concept, the thrall posts, the specialized storage, seem to be pointing towards a grand overhaul of player “settlements” with the goal of them being a visually active and alive place. That leaves space for the religion rework and continued religious themes. It also has a nice story counterpoint that what follows war is civilization.
I enjoy the BP (although, half is useless junk like tokens of whatever the hell they’re called) and some bazaar stuff (although way overpriced and if more were affordable, more would buy them such as myself) but the Ages in my opinion have been pretty lackluster after seeing and doing it over and over. The Ages become stale and unappealing after awhile. The Ages are sorely lacking in comparison to DLCs (again, in my opinion) but YES, Funcom really needs to clean up the game and tackle the many Bugs that haunt this game! Some of which are nearly game breaking.
I’ve watched the trailer, it looks pretty good but I’m sure it’ll have its own problems like most games do of this type. Also, no word yet of console versions or IF it’ll be coming to them (my guess the next gen consoles at some point in time) I don’t play PC so I’ll have to wait
How about Age of Back to Basics. An Age where Funcom learns to not over complicate things with trying too hard to incorporate new or updated things to a game that wasn’t broken before the Ages started. Or rather, not AS broken. It had its share of problems but it wasn’t THIS problematic. Let’s ditch the Ages in favor of going back to DLCs. Let players decide what they want and don’t want instead of clearly what Funcom wants. I’m all for another building set/DLC if it means sacrificing another unnecessary 4 part Age! 4 chapters is 3 too many! Smaller Ages would be much better if Funcom still wants to do them. Three to Four chapters is too much, it gets boring and starts to feel played out. The destroyable fortress is dumb and many people experience lag/freezing or game crashes whenever by it and it doesn’t help when inconsiderate people build big ass bases near it. Do we really need their help crashing people’s game? Isn’t the useless fortress enough? Age of bringing back the DLC has my vote
Age of dumpster fire
I wouldn’t go that far UNfun, while the game has a lot of issues now it’s no where near a dumpster fire. It’s still one of the better base building/craftering RPGs around especially on console. There isn’t a better one on consoles (yet). 7 Days to Die is close which it too is getting an update supposedly this year. But Ark for the most part sucks, it’s chunky movement and absurd combat mechanics, unforgiving attacks early on by impossible to kill enemies in noob spots and so on just make the game less enjoyable, oh and the pooping every two seconds is gross and annoying! So for now, Conan despite its many flaws is still King in terms of this type of genre on consoles at least. I’m not a PC gamer so I can’t speak on behalf of that.
I didn’t mention Minecraft the game everyone apparently loves because the game gives me a headache. Its graphics are so jarring to me. I’ve tried to watch my kid play it and I near to leave the room often. If it had better graphics I’d say it would probably dethrone Conan as far as building and crafting goes. I know there are other games too like the Forest (but I needs way more), etc. Conan does still one up those games. Conan could be extremely well done if more time and dedication was given to it or sold to a larger company (maybe it would hurt it idk
) but clearly Funcom has their mind on other things probably Dune which to me is going to be Conan in a different setting. It’ll still have plenty of bugs and issues because that’s what Funcom seems to be known for.
Maybe it will be an Age of Pet, but knowing how bad they mishandle everything they will call it the Age of Bestiality. ![]()
LOL and of course Europe will be uncensored and the states censored! LOL,JK
