I play on singleplayer (I’m an aesthetics dictator and can’t abide ugly buildings so I willingly sequester myself away) so I’ve only got my own personal experience of it. Doesn’t change the fact of its quality or that I’d wholly recommend it to, again, ‘anyone that can use it.’ I use it pretty much constantly if I’m feeling in an agility mood. Javelin/shield is something that just feels right.

EDIT: and because the mod adds so many types of javelins - it’s a perfectly viable weapon type with just as much progression as you play as any other. Keeps pace better than all the latter-day weapon additions (even with the perfunctory rounding out of material tiers for things like shortswords. Remember when there was only iron and star metal? Pepperidge Farm remembers.), at any rate.

It’s down to raw basics. The Strength Weapon line-up is more viable in combat than the Agility weapon list. Agility has Daggers going for it and thats about it. (And Perhaps Katana weapons)

It’s also interesting how the moment they got any improvement we’ve seen threads calling to nerf pretty much most agility weapons :stuck_out_tongue: there was some for daggers… some for katana… some for bow… hmm.
Imagine if they gave the pokey spear to Agility :joy:

For Pvp Reasons I am against using spears as agility weapons. Its good there is no agi spear meta otherwhise it would kill any other build. We would end up in the same situation prior 3.0.

I know why people want it and I understand it. But please lets not go the same road as we have before.

I am agreeing though that agi could get a little love.

Not to forget underwater combat with agility weapons.
Javalin needs some love.

What exactly do you mean by this?.. that’s already a thing… Str20 / Agi20 / Vit20 is already the ONE build in PvP without much competition.
Along with the pokey spear being the “high end” PvP weapon :stuck_out_tongue:

I still say that make all light attacks agility based and heavy attacks strength based. Special attacks get put into one or the other depending (IE katana would be agility but 2Hswords would be strength)
That way we can have access to all weapons if we focus on one vs the other attribute.

No.

I think the whole division of weapons into two categories is bad, but it’s not like Funcom are going to reverse it at this point. Oh well.

I love pretty much all of the Agility Weapons. I think the Katana with the sword moveset on the back of a mount would suffice.

The others make sense. Javelins should work.

Shortswords are amazing

My issue with what it is right now is the weapons that are R1 spammers are all agility. Adding spear to this makes sense in that case but it’s still just…blah.

Spear should remain the way it is and be strength.

Javelin is what needs to be given a more robust style. And there should be some way not to throw it on accident. Like you need to use target lock to throw the thing.

I mean that right now you still need to skill into both attributes (strength and agility) if you wanna use the spear as a meta. In order for the spear making enough damage you need to sacrifice attributes, like encumberence or grit or authority. This wouldn´t be the case anymore if you could ignore strength completely and go for agility only. It would strengthen the spear meta even more which leads us back to prior 3.0.

I personally think we are fine where we are with the stats right now. Mounted combat could be improved though and I also agree with the javelins getting some more love and power.

Bows are really prevalent on the server(s) I play. And they HURT A LOT.

I agree on buffing Javelins. You can’t be serious when a 2h pike is faster than a 1h short spear…

And there is no point in it when you use both attributes anyways in a 20 20 20 build.

Oddly enough - this is also something the mod I was talking about earlier does, though it’s more a side-effect of giving it attack chains for the shield. You gotta put whatever is in your off-hand away and it works like a charged shot on a bow.

This is an elegant solution to a long-standing problem.

At first when I saw it I thought it would be slightly unwieldy as an implementation but it honestly isn’t. Then again, I always have the shield on my hotbar next to the main weapon so it’s not like equipping/unequipping it isn’t super quick to begin with.

That make us 2! Give some love to javelins!
They are fantastic pve weapons by the way, but from all the agility weapons they are slower on light attacks and they have no special attack. I agree that they need to be faster on lights and combine with shield a combo that doesn’t toss them at heavy attack but with special!
Plus they need more damage on throw but with combination of strength! So your 20,20,20 will only be beneficial sir.
Spears are lousy pve weapons, they consume humongous amount of stamina and compared to other weapons, even javelins i could say, they are the last we should use! But pvp, mo matter the nerfs keeps them high in the food chain.
I don’t care if spears are either agility or strength. So i will stay neutral in this call. Just stopped by to support sir dave and javelins!

And when you don’t you’re basically fked.

This one would love to see many agility weapon improvements.

Mounted katana and javelin are top on this one’s list.

Daggers are in a good place for what they are.

Claws/Punch daggers need help, there isn’t even a non-premium star metal version.

Dual Swords also need help, there are currently what, 2 examples? Whirlwind Blades and Serpentes Swords.

Shortswords are in an odd place. On Siptah, they are in an excellent place. Exiled Lands… not so much. This one would love to see them added to the Obsidian and Black Ice weapons list.

Katanas are not bad other than the restriction against mounted use. This one would love to see a real Dragonbone Katana, rather than the skin…

Javelins… This one does not like their moveset. This one does not like that they are not usable mounted. This one is saddened because spear and shield is such a magnificent fighting style and it would be nice if it was in game as well.

One other wibble, it would be very nice if a glowing Shortsword or set of claws could be added, much like Forgelight and Glinmermoon.

Now, some of this is possibly in the works, the Punch daggers as a weapon type are comparatively recent, and we all recall how long it took to get a full suite of Two-handed Axes and Shortswords, so patience may be called for.
