so i upgraded on official server my tier 2 set altar to tier 3 and it did vanish then i tried it again but the other one did vanish too
and my altar to tier 2 vanished now 2
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
1.get set altar tier 2
2.upgrade it to tier 3
3.it vanished and left me with a lootbag from the altar
4.and again
Was the area around your alter large and open enough? I’ve had alters despawn and leave a lootbag full of zeal before in areas where it was too small for the upgraded shrine. Basically anything that would cause the shrine to be unplaceable due to collision from other objects as if you were placing it yourself.

You’re right, it’s mostly a collision causing that.
Sometimes only the foundations, shrine is sinking bit in, and that’s. Often wedge foundations also may be the culprits, they’re really tricky when it comes to place bigger buildings, especially atlars.
