Alternative music for Conan Exiles

If you have over 4,5k hours of game time in Conan Exiles like me, you’ve probably already disabled the music. Not because the music is bad, but because of the repetitive combat music that slowly but surely drives you completely bananas.

Playing without music is not very immersive though, so I started compiling a cool playlist called “The Road of the Exile” and thought I might share it with you guys. If you have any cool suggestions of music to add, please let me know!

  1. Elysium (from Gladiator)
  2. Bathroom Dance (from Joker)
  3. Jurassic Park Theme
  4. The Revenant Main Theme
  5. The John Dunbar Theme (from Dances with Wolves)
  6. Ragnar Dreams of Home (from Vikings)
  7. Fellowship (from Tolkien)
  8. Aeternum (from The Last Kingdom)
  9. Totems of Grizzlemaw (from The Wrath of the Lich King)
  10. Mountains (from Interstellar)
  11. Far in the Grassland (from Wingspan)
  12. Gabriel’s Oboe (from The Mission)
  13. Back to Atlantis (from Atlantis: The Lost Tales)
  14. The Sands of Forgetfulness (from Age of Conan)
  15. His name is Conan (from Conan the Barbarian 2011)
  16. Sepermeru (from Conan Exiles)
  17. Protectors of the Earth (from Two Steps From Hell)
  18. Gift of an Axe (from Conan Exiles)

You can find the playlist here. Enjoy!

Edit: Link should go to the correct playlist now!

I wish they would allow customization of the music in game. I’m with you about it getting repetitive.

In case you want music in similar fashion to Conan Exiles, check out the Soundtrack of Age of Conan.
Conan Exiles uses many tracks from that game but AoC has many many more amazing tracks (there are too many to name, the whole Soundtrack is just amazing).

Besides that, I really like listening to the soundtrack of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and I have let it run in the background several times when building something Greek themed, it helps me get inspired a lot but it also fits the combat very well, especially when being geared like a Spartan soldier (tracks for example: “A Spartan fight” during normal combat or “Guards of the Cult” when fighting something special like a Boss. While building I use the many others that play in the open world like “Valley of the Two Kings”, “Hills of Attika” or “Secret Lands of Artemis”)

I also often have a Skyrim Playlist running in the background while being in the north, mainly “Tundra”, “Far Horizons”, “Beneath the Ice” etc.

Sometimes I also use the soundtrack of the game series “Gothic” (despite the name it has nothing to do with the Gothic genre of music), mainly from the third game. It has some very cool music as well for various regions (for example “Ishtar’s Theme”, fitting when building a grand turanian palace or maybe when being in Sepermeru, or “Desert Sun” when exploring the desert).

My Spotify playlist that I use for Conan consists of Anvil of Crom by Celestial Aeon Project, Artemesia’s Childhood by Junkie XL, the Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer soundtracks by Basil Poledouris, In Maigjan by Heilung, Maproom : Dawn by John Williams, Lyfaberg, Tyr, Løyndomsriss, Heimta Thurs, UraR, IwaR and Rotlaust Tre Fel by Wardruna and the Conan Exiles soundtrack by Knut Avenstroup Haugen.

Finally someone who listens to Gothic soundtracks. I listen to the sountracks of the first 2 games for months now while playing Conan Exiles. So good.
Gothic 3 has some pretty good sountracks too, but not as good as 1 and 2.

That’s true, I love the first and second game’s soundtracks as well, though I have too strong memories of the valley of mines or Khorinis City when hearing the music, in my head it doesn’t fit anymore with any other game

I mean, just play the soundtrack of Conan the Barbarian by Basil Poledouris on the background. If you get bored of it in less than 7000 hours, there’s something wrong with you.

Then again, for me, background music is just that - background music. As long as it’s not out-of-place, I barely register it after a while. It simply enhances the overall mood of the setting, but I pay no great attention to the music itself.
