PVP officials have alot of sandstone thread every where. And some have clans that were harvesting during the dead periosd and the dismatnle bench era. so they now have lines of T3 and vaults all over the place. It is one thing to have a few claim defenses, but when yo run thru the summoning pits, and have to jump to not rubberband because the entire area has too much sandastone, and everything is a ghost wall, it is time to re-access officials and unlimited building and resources.
Private ( who i think would set a hard limit) and Solo CoOp should have free reign based on their discretion. Officials should be a place where new players feel welcomed to learn as much as possible, and can enjoy as much of the game as possible to get the same addiction we have
I kinda agree with your sentiment⦠but then again, survival games are all about competition for resources, and finding the most efficient means to beat your competitors. This premise in itself not only allows, but encourages behavior that denies your opponent of valuable resources.
I donāt think land claimers are doing anything wrong per se, even though I, too, feel itās a bit jerky. Itās one of the main reasons why I chose to play Solo because I donāt like the sort of playstyle you see on Officials but I donāt feel entitled to demand that they change their ways either.
It is not entitled to dsicuss and want the ability to play on officials. The fact you donāt paly on one because of these types of things say s a lot.
I look at Officials like Neighborhoods. And The ToS to play on them as HOA agreements.
I live in a neighborhood with one that has some weird rules that contradict each other.
They don;t like cars on roadside of house between 10 pm and 6 am. they also have people complain when they go for their 5 am run that cars are blocking the side walk in the drive ways. So which will it be, open side walks, or open road curbs? the association will have to figure that out.
Take that philosophy with officials. Let people build on them (officials) without constraint and trust they use good judgement, or react to the fact that people claim way more land than they actually use just because they can.
I think that maybe the breakpoint is merely too far to allow flexible enough flow to run when it comes to official servers. Still theorising tho.
I went private coz I have experience of these issues and (although I still not know for sure when it comes to this product) thus I wagered that Iād dodge plenty of issues this way (and it seems that I may have been right).
Iām not criticising the idea of domination in essence, but the premise that the game is marketed by; customers buying the game expect to experience the whole scale promised, not merely being cannon fodder (even tho some may be satisfied here). So if one cannot dominate or explore, thereās an error in the marketing side of things, which should be either revised (not likely; bad taste) or the progression breakpoint is lowered to enable the appropriate flow (my opinion; not likely to work out anytime soon). After all we are talking about a product here. Iād be asking a refund if a product didnāt deliver its premises as promised. Itās only right to pay them back.
Edit:
True. They merely play the game as allowed. We can safely exclude them from the discussion.
One solution to this would be āRUSTā style tool cupboards. Each TC covers a certain number of vertical and horizontal squares. You have to maintain resources in the TC for the area covered. If you run out of any one resource needed for that area, it starts the decay process. An example would be a sandstone tier one base would require stone and wood to āfuelā the TC. A tier two base would need shaped wood, bricks, iron reinforcements, etc. Whatever was used in the building of the structure would be needed to upkeep it. This would make it nearly impossible to land claim huge areas. The upkeep would be too time consuming to be manageable.
This system would also allow you to cause a base to start to decay if you can loot/destroy the TC.
I agree in parts, I donāt agree that there should be a limit, every limit, censorship is terrible!
But I agree that there should be monitoring on this, I myself reported to days that my āneighborā FILLS the sandstone supreme area, and made a literal āsandstone lineā from the supremero temple into the ānameless cityā It is hundreds of meters of an empty āwallā absolutely for NOTHING there is no function or gain for it.
I donāt know on your servers, but on the server that I play PVE there have only been 2 PURGE since the gameās release, and when there was only talk about it, the 2 base owners became true celebrities for having achieved such a feat of glory. from the purge, so my āneighbor of the Trump wallā didnāt even put slaves protecting.
I opened a forum here just for that and posted dozens of photos showing the server and telling them to go there āNEVER answeredā and the sandstones are still there today.
Now tell me, isnāt this a CLEAR case of intervention? The most curious thing is that the base āup thereā is WELL SMALL is 6 times smaller than my base.
Now tell me what is the purpose of this? all this is GOOD BIGGEST it happens that whenever Iām taking a picture in a āplaceā everything that is farther doesnāt carry, it doesnāt carry anymore is there, just go further that this wall goes to where it is no longer constructible inside the ācityā unnamed".
REPITO! I do not agree to have a limit to build, but I agree to have a forum to report abuse, such as the one I reported, report with photos and if the company judged the abuse would go there on the server to see if it is ārealā, this case me It looks very real!
Just clearing up a possible question ALL photos are of a single base taken from different angles, single player, which covers about 10% of the map and only has about 10 slaves
