I would like to second that there is already so much randomization with the thrall perks so can you please lock some of them into certain types specifically. Since the leveling system has been added it feels like some thralls have lost their identity and purpose. Additionally I have noticed that some of the perks that are identified as level 10 perks are being learned at level 20. For instance my White Tiger which took so long to level to 20 learned the level 10 Unflinching feline skill instead of one the All/Universal/level 20 traits. Again I have to state with so much randomization for these thrall traits in mind why cant better perks be guaranteed for max level. The feeling when you level one of the higher XP required thralls to 20 and all the traits are trash just makes people not want to play the game.
Thats so true, I said in chat if my next one got + acc id quit the game, he got +3 acc and +3 str. But its total bull and im starting to get pissed off about it. This was on a Vulcano fighter, erii and he got assasin perk at lvl 10.
The perk just have to look good funcom it dont have to be good, but it has to look good, understand! it gets very personal when u lvl ur thralls and pets, and I dont think u get this.
Also the attributes itself…
Accuarcy has the LOWEST of all % for my Dalinsia (40%).
Yet she has there 12!!! And survival (45%) 1 and Agility (50%) 2 or 3…
Because my FIGHTER needs that damn accuracy…
Sorry for the frustration and I have felt it, too. I could post a pic of a zerker that gained an insane amount of survival, so, since she is a survivor, she is now dedicated to running point on base defense.
I have taken to leveling thralls to 15. If they do not have what I want in a follower, they are relegated to that, base defense, and I leave them at 15. That does not take long, and I need it anyway. At 15 they should be able to handle most purges (PvE here).
Normally, I am not a min/max kind of player, but this change has made me into one, and I will continue to follow the above until I have what I want in a companion.
Selective culling by purge?
Regards
jim
I think they really need to lock certain perks to certain classes. Assasin is acceptable, because it doesn’t actually lower any stat – it’s +3 to strength and accuracy – but Deadeye is absolutely unacceptable in a fighter.
We can’t get everything perfect, but that doesn’t mean randomness should be completely unrestrained.
Doing the same here. Getting them to level 10 is trivial. A few more hours and they’re 15 and ready for guard duty
EDIT: I just thought of something that would be cool, but would require more work than just class-locking certain perks. This should probably go into suggestions, but: what if we could influence the selection of perks by how we use our thralls? If you give your fighter a bow, she might have a slightly higher chance of getting archery-related perks. If you get her light armor and daggers, you might be training her for some agility-related perks. Just a wild thought and not likely to happen
Just curious, is anyone putting a bow and melee weapon on their fighter? Or just me? They will switch to melee if the npc gets close, otherwise, they use the bow quite effectively and that extra acc isnkinda nice.
Idk, maybe I just see a nice hybrid approach with the thrall I got.
I’m not, but I might start doing that now that you pointed it out.
Regardless, I would rather have Funcom either class-lock certain perks, merge the two classes into one, or have the thrall usage influence the perks. The first solution is the least work and they always have their hands full, so I’m betting they’ll do that and maybe do something more complicated later.
True. I know they confirmed thralls do not have a preferred weapon type, so I’m running with that info right now until they get around to doing so, which they did hint at. Problem is that’s probably in their ‘to-do’ list on the AI side.
My Dalinsias first perk:
+3 vit, +3 agility
Second perk:
+3 agility
Third perk:
+3 vit, +3 agility…
Also accuracy had the lowest growing % and is the double amount of survival (which had 10% more)…
It really ■■■■■■ me off, if the FIGHTER gets accuracy on a levelup… At least give all NPCs a benefit from STR and accuracy.
Seems like they dont want us to level them… Im not leveling rare ones anymore until this bs is fixed.
Archers with no accuracy and fighters with tons of accuracy…
