Any ideals on a strong roof

Out of those three, priestking is my favorite although it can get cramped if you dont interior design well. You didn’t pick Eastern Barrack or Eye that never closes? Odd because I prefer those than the others simple because the popularity of the bunker and deserters and constantly getting raided by everyone trying to prove something or take over the claim…never understood why but everyone loves deserters…swiss cheese is what it is.

I think what @Selene01 is saying to me is “look for places like this,” and my mind is already there. Priestking was always my absolute favorite, when we could build all over.

The one in my mind’s eye will require a strong roof, too. Just as an annoyance. Good topic, @Styker .

I really wish Siptah had more variations like EL does. Sure there are some real gems but all in all, it’s these handful of gems or the same old…nothing inbetween that can be (I hate using the word) exploited beyond just scenery. The spots I have found in Siptah that could be creatively done all were non-buildable areas…like the designers were just teasing us with them.

I like the eastern barracks. The idea of having 2 bases stacked on top of each other amuses me greatly.

I really wish I had my old PS4 hard drive. I made a ceiling maproom at the volcano right at the buildable area in front of the ob.

Needs to be both IMHO. Functional and artistic. You don’t just plop a wonderful creative tool like the build mechanics and tell people to build just black ice boxes and nothing more. Those folks need to be shunned not copied.

Oh well now you got me all curious and such. Guess I know what I’m doing for the next few weeks.

OK I know the one you are talking about smkcntr did a tutorial on it about a year ago. It can be a fully functional base if you know how to stack your crafting tables…AND if placed properly, you can make it explosive proof as you won’t be able to place bombs around it since it’s not buildable area.

The main problem with the spot…it’s on youtube so you know you will get attention some time…although there are some spots on EL that had attention back in 2018 that simply just aren’t done anymore…like it’s now officially a forgotten lore thing.

I disagree. My builds are usually both. I have a hardened/fortified core, and a pretty aesthetically pleasing shell around it. I got this game to build castles in PVP and defend them, and I do so quite regularly. It’s fun to abandon the standard meta sometimes. Shoot, sometimes my aesthetically pleasing builds get a pass from raiders because they don’t want to ruin it.

No… pretty sure it is not! It’s still possible, but possible and allowed are two different things. According to FC ALL STACKING is against the rules - even placing thralls too close together!

How will you feel when you lead someone into a base wipe and/or account suspension?

The way I see it it’s best not to even worry about the ban because despite our best efforts (twice) we got banned. Now it’s easier to just transfer out all the good stuff every few days to a low pop sever and keep the nice pvp base for fighting only on the high pop server. As far as my input on roofs… obviously depending on the build vaults worl very well for roofs especially protecting against trebs. It soaks up the damage very nicely

Show me where it all stacking is forbidden. I have seen fence stacking called exploiting but nothing mentioned on ceiling stacking and let’s be clear the reversal of creative build to exploit designation for fence stacking was due to the continuous extreme amounts done. If someone has 20 ceiling stacks and they get banned, I’ll feel pretty good about it. Someone that has 3? That sucks but we can’t just play in this fear. No one has fun in that. Truth be told, I still fence stack but I do it in moderation with no more than 5. My point is that if someone has evidence of my fence stack, they have already broke into my base and there so what if my base is scrapped…it was already.

From experience…watch out for low pop server storage…I got the short end of the trimming stick.

It’s been posted here and quoted about 5 or 6 times in various threads. You can believe me or you can just go find it yourself.

That was fence stacking and we assumed ceiling stacking was also included. Now unless there was an additional discussion with another FC type, we got our assumption. Now that doesn’t mean it’s wrong, it could very well be right but building in a socially competitive game (at least for PVP PVE-C) means we have to do risk analysis with our builds. This is why going down the rabbit hole of clear specifications of compliance isn’t going to work because there will always be shades of grey that won’t be thought of. So we got the direction that FC moderators are judging their enforcement decisions on. That means we know their vision and can build accordingly…that isn’t a black and white formulaic Newtonian science but more of a various grey probability aspect akin to Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. But the thing is that you control the risk in what you build so the player is still in complete control over if they get banned or not. You can play it safe and have a 100% safe build but you won’t be happy or you could practically beg to be banned with a base that is an offense to God and man. But there are also infinite shades of grey inbetween. To be completely honest, this system still is a type of PVP but based on the patience of FC. While they are still thinking in ideals and not punishing the reporter, eventually there will be a time where they will update the ToS to include false reporting. It’s only a matter of time since it is getting abused and they know it is and they will have to do something…just like they had to enforce a ToS. They never wanted to do this but they realized it was hurting the game’s community and rep and started a ToS to correct the issue. Enforcing a false report policy is going to come.

No!!! Listen please! That was FC saying ALL FORMS OF STACKING - EVEN INCLUDING THRALLS PLACED TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER is forbade.

But feel free to try and convince yourself with yet another wall of text… It will not change their position on the matter.

Can’t stack thralls… how big of a base is needed for 200 thralls… just silly

@CodeMage perhaps you can add to this because we are having a specifics disagreement that you were much more versed than I on this.
