Anyone else given up?

I hadn’t heard of Enshrouded, thanks for heads-up.

I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that release.

conan exiles is still by far one of the best survival games on console to date.
not sure how these compare due to not playing them yet.

enshrouded is another survival game like conan exiles is… never played it though.
windrose is another survival game if kept my eye on but they dont have a release date for console yet. EVERYONE has praised this game who has played it.
SoulMask is another survival. never played it but have my eyes on it.

Notice they quietly turned decay timers back on without telling us? I really want to believe that they will consider a console version, but I can’t help but feel they will push us away until we quit and they can justify not releasing it. Their goal is to bring back enough PC players to offset the loss of console players. The fact they are bragging about 30,000 concurrent players, it seems to be working.

I logged in this week and my heart just isn’t in it anymore.

Then charge us $10 or $20 for the upgrade. Throw in a new building set and it’s a DLC. Other games do it. No reason at all to expect such a major upgrade to be free. The fact it is free and there is a big fee for certification shows me it won’t be coming for consoles. Where is the money to fund it coming from? I’m not spending a dime more on the bazaar at this point. My motivation to continue has taken a pounding. The hype of the big update only to find we’ve been tossed aside was tough to swallow.

I would be more than happy to be wrong and I will publicly apologize if I am, but I don’t think I am at this point. I have an editing machine that I’ve played it on and I will say it looks stunning, but the financial investment I have to get two new gaming rigs and all the DLC and bazaar items back for me and my wife is more than I’m prepared to invest.

I’ve given up ages ago. There hasn’t been any interesting updates in years, not with good content that has any longevity. 8 years i’ve been with the game and the last 2 have been mostly keeping the bases alive on couple of servers in the hopes for better tomorrow. Now that those dreams have been buried (at least for now) i’ll quit completely, there’s no point to it anymore. I’ll return if something happens on console or they add a cross-platform support for the accounts. I’ve spent so much money on the console version that i absolutely won’t spend it again on PC.

This better happens before Enshrouded release on PS5…

As they’ve said many, many times: the certification process for consoles means they need to get it right before they put it through that process. Best testing ground for that is Steam where they can upload whenever they want with zero expense. I don’t mind being their guinea pig on Steam because it means some time later console gets the updates too.

I’m thinking it will happen when they are able to make it happen, my friend. Not before, not later.

I logged on as I heard decay timers were back on. Then I heard they were off again. Not sure if it was because people complained that they weren’t told. That are hyped they have 40,000 concurrent player tells you all you need to know. We are getting tossed aside.

Console will get dropped. I guarantee it.

Here’s my sticking point. Ignoring Dennis’ lies about the earlier PS5 upgrade that never arrived, the past year “age of bug fixes” was actually them working 16 months on the PC version. The Age of Bug fixes was a dangling carrot designed to keep us spendingnin the bazaar on the hopes major fixes were coming. We were simply lied to. I’ve now gone almost a month without playing. I’ve no intention of going back. Giving the 16 month dev time. We won’t see an upgrade until at least Dec 2027. By then most players will be gone. And they will justify no upgrade because of no audience. They get what they want, a PC only game, and they don’t have to be the bad guys to say no.

What if I told you I’m giving up on UE5 and happily switching back to UE4?

The servers in UE5 simply don’t work. :frowning:

I can’t say much about the certification process and so on, but I play Ark since a while and there updates are released quite frequently and by this I mean for all platforms, unless a change affects one certain platform only. Was about the same with Monster Hunter Wilds in the first few weeks etc. So the whole process doesn’t seem to be that problematical - at least time wise.

Well at least they’ve managed to upset everyone. That takes a skilled dev team to do that. I’ve logged on three times since the announcement. Stayed long enough to reset decay timers and logged. At this point I’m letting it go. This was absolutely the only game I played on my PS5. Adored it, bugs and all. I just don’t care now. And that sucks… I just feel lied to. They hyped this big update I only to find out we didn’t matter.

decay timers are offliine so u dont need to log in

I haven’t seen a high ping or not been able to get on the sever I play on NA west, fresh public server.

Great right? NO. Just because you can log in does not mean the server is not lagging to unplayable.

I have to walk every where because run

run

running causes rubber banding. And forget fighting, not only are the enemies teleporting around but Q on I do the same. It’s enough to give you a fit.

Ping used to be about server health, now it is just the actual ping to the server, not how bad the server is lagging.

Realistically the update will be coming 6 months to a year later and the reason I say this compared to most people is because I have been playing conan when it was early access on Xbox one and it was called war in the north, I eventually transfered to ps4 when the full released happened and their model of business is always catering pc first and eventually it comes to console. This isn’t the first time they have been acting like this but what’s my gripe on this matter is the poor excuse saying they want “quality” when it isnt the case from their track record, they have abandoned the console community currently to cater their pc fanbase because of review bombardment with the trend they steam players have been, meanwhile console players sure would complain just like pc players but they would gladly take the current state of what the enhanced version is. Their letter saying they are hearing us, sure they are but they are abandoning the console community who actually gives more financial gains than the steam community. It’s quite frankly despicable the route they took, me being a long time fan of close to 9k hours of this game and saving me from when I lost my father I just can’t justify anymore playing a game in a broken state, abandoned. A game that once gave me comfort, now it’s just saddening.

I haven’t played on the servers i usually play on, since decay is off and my enthusiasm for this game is mostly gone. But i started a new game on another official just before the non-update happened, it’s a server where almost every time i’m on there are at least six other players, sometimes around 15-20. The performance is most of the time okay, i was really surprised and thought the may have spend some money on the legacy servers?

For me at least performance on Playstation is better than before. But on XBox it is worse, so i don’t know what to make of this. But i don’t care that much anymore…

I’m on two official servers. The Siptah one was usually 20-25 players. The last three times I logged on? 4 tops. My EL is worse. Usually 10-15. I was the only one every time.

They killed the console game without even needing to put in any effort. This is what they wanted. If they had said we are definitely working on it next once we’ve figured out the PC version most would have hung around. However with as disastrous as the Steam launch seems to be, they will be licking their wounds and salvaging what they can. I would put money on the console market getting bounced entirely.

Who cares how pretty it looks on console when they are doing nothing about undermeshing. Its insane that every populated official has multiple undermeshes on it. All of them. The whole jungle is undermesh

I gave up PVP at the first server merge. Cheating was beyond a joke and Funcom did nothing about it. I don’t mind losing to better players, but losing to cheats sucks.
