With all due respect…there are no current plans to launch on consoles? This is a huge slap in the face to those of us that stuck with the game through the years being seen as the ugly step-children, dealt and adapted with gportal limitations on the ability to realistically play with most of us existing in the waste lands called Officials, and exist solely with FC bazaars as the only means to customize (literally walled garden consumers). I’m completely at a loss of words of this level of perceived abandonment to the only group that is literally required to be customers for FC.
The loss of everything built on Siptah is a non-starter. This is the ultimate death knell for me and this game. A way should have been developed to properly transfer / merge everything from a Siptah Server into an Exiled Lands server.
I second this. Consoles are well-forgotten all this time and definitely deserve this sought-after revamp. I do hope in “a later date” ,as they state, to receive this update to consoles too.
They currently have no plans for a console release, but stated that they’re eager to bring it to PS5® “at a later date”. Till then, we’re still hard-stuck to UE4 version.
The wording is corporate for we aren’t working on it and if there is enough outcry or we need their numbers, we’ll react to it and slap a port together. This means ETA would be a full year from when that decision is made.
Exactly, we’re playing a game that has been completely abandoned. The servers are very laggy. Previously, the Latin American servers could handle 40 players easily with a maximum ping of 200; now it hits 1000 ping. This update excited all the console players, and the fact that Funcom doesn’t have the minimum communication capacity to say whether we’ll receive these improvements is very disheartening.
On one hand I am very pleased by the update, and would be excited for it. But that excitement is now undercut by sadness that our friends on consoles have once again been ignored.
This is strongly reminiscent of the Siptah release, which created a two-tier playerbase, and led to incalculable confusion as players from one game mode attempted to answer questions for the other and thus misinformation spread like wildfire.
This two-tier approach is, in my view, a mistake, as well as being insulting to a large proportion of the playerbase.
That would at least be a start. But many do not have the option (or desire) to move to PC. Many choose to be on console because that is their preference. Most of all I would like to see an expedited move to get this update out for consoles as soon as possible.
I mean I don’t want to believe the impossible is never true, look at how they DID port the game into UE5, which many never believed could happen. But it might not be possible because of console limitations…
I suspect that with the history of patch and update launch problems, they want to wait to see how this one goes before committing to a console release. If they hit too many issues, they may not think its worth it. If it goes off ‘without a hitch’, they’ll probably be more inclined to port to consoles. That’s why I think this is a ‘wait and see’ approach to the console platform.
