I haven’t logged on since the announcement, I really don’t see the point. I have no idea if my server is getting merged. Why waste time doing anything if I lose most of it anyway? Buying anything from the bazaar just funds PC updates. I think that may be the ultimate goal. Give us nothing to play for, then as we slowly started disappearing, Funcom can say “look there is no interest in consoles” and will just focus on PC. After almost 7000 hours, I think it’s time to call it. I just wish they’d treated console players with a bit more respect. Our money was certainly good enough.
Let’s be honest, the console update is never coming. If they wanted to, they would already have plans in motion.
I’ll bet you $1,000,000 there’s an announcement in the next few months that they ARE working on a console update, and it launches with only a couple of weeks of the announcement and runs and looks better than ever on Playstation. Please don’t give up.
I’m not as confident that it’ll be as fast as that, but I certainly hope that consoles will get the update. If it is successful and starts bringing in money on steam then hopefully that should be enough to encourage them to port across to consoles as well. I completely understand the disappointment console players are feeling right now, and can understand why for many this might be an end, but I hope as many as are able to do stick around - that also might be a factor in them judging whether there is enough money to justify porting the update across to consoles.
I am not a console player, but a reason to log in could be because you enjoy playing the game. Console players have been screwed, that is not disputed, cannot be glossed over, but why should that stop you from playing. Funcom don’t give a monkey’s backside if you play or not. They already have your dosh.
7000 hrs of game play . . . . that says you love the game. Walking away only affects one party . . . . you.
Suggestion: harass Sony. They control what game comes into the Playstation gaming pool.
Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not a Funcom supporter, but the problem here is not solely Funcom.
Sony (+Micro Soft) are also players in the decision process making here.
Although the Conan Exiles revenue for Sony is probably only a grain of sand on a beach, the ‘brand’ is what suffers from unhappy customers (players). Bad feedback on a game, who cares. Bad feedback on a ‘Brand’, that is a different story.
When the ‘Brand’ suffers, CEO’s take notice.
Console players have the ability to control their destiny.
Of course that update will come to consoles too, just not right away. I can kind of imagine the process is pretty different and way more complicated
I mean, is there really a reason to complain about anything? Two maps got merged into one, no wipe is needed, the 120GB game is now down to 68GB… I don’t know man. Sometimes I feel like it’s not even so much about Funcom doing bad stuff, but more about players constantly looking for a problem somewhere
Yeah, I agree. Funcom’s communication could definitely be better. On the other hand, what would it really change?
I was browsing Reddit today. People keep asking the same questions over and over, and most of them are about things that are already explained in the announcement post. Not even buried deep, often it’s stuff mentioned right at the beginning
But like I said, I agree with you. There are plenty of other things that could definitely use better communication
Reddit and Steam both have Forums but are they official Funcom channels of communication. Steam isn’t. Funcom really need to sort this sh*t out. Players are asking on Steam forums for help from Funcom. We keep saying “go to Funcom Forums”. Steam could help here but why should they, they are not Funcom.
Funcom really need to sort an ‘environmentally friendly’ bug report system, POSTE HASTE.
The PS5 upgrade has been hinted at since 2021 when the XBOX Series X got the update. That offered 4K resolution, improved textures, and significantly better performance.
We got nothing other than a carrot dangled in front of us.
I have no reason to believe anything Funcom says or hints at. There was nothing stopping them from a PS5 upgrade the past five years. Nothing. The fans called for it, begged for it and we were glossed over.
If that was going to be the case why not update all platforms at the same time? Done the way they have has just killed off the interest from far too many loyal players
yup, after losing 8 years of play, just not worth starting all over again, so much lost and nothing gained, those who stay, happy hunting and be sure watch your 6’s
I completely understand how you feel, feels like a knife in the back and chest, but don’t give up hope yet.
Right now Steam players are encountering and experiencing bugs, after bugs, after bugs. During this time Funcom will be working to fix UE5 and im confident they won’t leave out the bulk of their revenue.
It may take a few months, but give it time.
the creators of the game Enshrouded did the same thing. Launched it to pc and worked on the bugs so that they could port it to console… took 1/2 year to a year but this autum (2026) they have a scheduled launch date for console.
Personally im thankful for the steam players to work through the bugs during this time.So don’t lose hope, give them some time to cook and I’m sure they will port it over.
I gave up when I saw that the official servers are full of underground bases. Until they fix that or simply address the reports, which is fundamental, the game won’t progress no matter how many updates are released. Players need to be taken care of.
Nearly 6k hours and I’m done. Game looks…different (bad?), like combination of Ark graphics, Disney animations, console port and flashy sun halos - trees, stones and ore nodes feels artificial/plastic. Character status and quickbar are smaller/less visible. Buidling parts also look less natural - previously they have that dusty, natural look - now they seem like placed from different game. Even choice of menu colours and fonts are bothering me. Long story short - changes are too distant from “legacy” version for me to feel like at home and still enjoy this game. Not to mention my gpu fan is going berserk even on lowest settings (my pc isn’t new, but legacy runs smooth).
Also what is that new company (I-something) responsible for this game?
they most likely are planning on a console release, but certification is lengthy and costly, the team wants to make sure the PC version is polished out before they work on console releases
No, the game won’t be coming to consoles. Stop deluding yourselves. The PC crowd comes with this same old line, “it’ll arrive in the future.” Don’t be surprised. All we can do is continue playing the buggy, unupdated game, quietly funding it for the PC players.
