As far as I remember, for the archer post to work correctly, you need to leave only bows and arrows in the archers’ inventory. They should not have any melee weapons.
Well that “might” explain why my archers reseting their attack range to 60m no matter how often i tell them it´s just 10m.
I´ll remove the weapons tomorrow maye they stay focused on guarding the gate then and not shoting rocknoses on the other side of the plateau.

Only have bows on the archers - there may be one with daggers as well?
I always make a point to drag the bow to the primary hand of the thrall once placed, for whatever that’s worth.
