Are there mid-level areas in Siptah? Also... a survivability character build to get into/Respec into?

,

Hello!

I used to be a player on the previous landmass… but that was around Jan 2020 when I last played.

I’m starting out on Siptah on a friend’s server and trying to be self-sufficient.

I’m on a PVE server, and while I don’t necessarily have to worry about purges (they’ve adjusted it so that it needs at least 2 or 3 people online to start a purge)… I feel kind of weak at level 35.

I’m not sure how to build for survivability, as I’m currently trying to focus on encumbrance for lugging around large amounts of materials to upgrade my base into a level 3 housing structure in the event of a purge.

I was wondering if there was a level 35-40 friendly place in the Siptah landmass to explore for now, as well as recommended builds/weapons to earn to survive better or to pile on damage as needed.

I focus on daggers/one-hand + shield, and a bow with Snake arrows to start fights.

Thanks in advance!

Opinion of a decadent weakling(me): I think the general rule is, the center is tough. As a weakling at level 40 you can find a lot of peaceful areas just a bit land inwards everywhere. Also there is iron and coal almost everywhere. Difficulty is like in rings around the center. Most important resources are also in many places. Maybe Northeast is the toughest because it is like new asgard/mounds? My taste is from straight east or west inwards.
But you should scout, maybe build some small outpost in an area you like, don´t be lazy lol, knowledge is power, and annoying minibosses also can spawn anywhere.

Thanks for the advice. I’d really like to make a central base of operations, though having satellite thrall stations seems like a good way to keep progressing.

Copy on this. Thank you for the advice.

I’m going to try exploring eastside some more, since I mostly dabbled in westside stuff.

We leveled up with a friend in asura bassin in the west. Its areally nice play , with water, iron coal, brimstone all nearby. The most common enemies are lynxes, and they are imho killable even at med level. The bears and wolves we usually fled from until later lol. Ofc if you are alone , it may be a bit harder but maybe a level 3 fighter thrall could help?

Thanks firestorm.

I managed to pick up a named Thrall. Noss The Murderer. Not sure if he’s good though.

Just going to kit him out in heavy armor for now and give him a steel greatsword since I can’t make hardened steel stuff yet.

Also for some chuckles, a pic from when we were low level and sh*t hit the fan, the ablity to climb helped a lot :)

oh wow. Hahaha. I usually hop off cliffs.

Thats also a good trick:)

Btw firestorm, since you’re here…

is there a good character build I can work towards for PVE in particular? Right now I’m doing Rank 3 encumbrance primarily to lug stuff around, but I’m trying to figure out what a good way to respecialize would be so that I’m either more survivable or hit harder… or maybe do a grit build?

Not sure what’s a good focus.

I mean, FireSpark 81 made this Tank build work, but I’m not sure I can get it to work pre-60 and pre-delving.

Honestly this video makers i think got alot of knowledge about the game so prolly they know what they are saying. Also we play now for a while so its along time since we were below 60 level. From what i remember we really invested in vitality, grit and first perk of agility. I also took a bit of encumberance. The thrid perk in vitality is pretty good , since it regenerate your health. I also love daggers, cause of the backflips. And healing potions are important. For a long time we used the heavy slaveforged guardian armor, since it was relatively easy to build. Then really good armors you can get from delving, but its time/resource intensive. (I am a bit surprised at the low grit in this build FireSpark proposes )

Sadly, the build from FireSpark is older, though I’m not sure if he every mentioned if it got outdated.

Will look into VIT/GRIT build.
