Is there any plan to make Cross play a thing? I´d like to play with my friend on PS4 but im on PC so i cant and i dont know if cross play is even planned, so id like to know is it planned? or should i just give up?
There is a search tool in the top-right of this UI. Type in “cross play” and see the dead threads about the topic.
Anyways, tldr… The controller vs keyboard is a different play style.
I used it and im trying to find an actual response from the devs and not just pure speculation and guessing as i have hope and refuse to let it die from something unconfirmed.
Hi . There is currently no pc/ps4/5 cross-play. The presence of mod on pc may be the reason for Sony’s refusal to do this (assumptions on my part) Sony is reluctant to make games cross-play and this regardless of the platforms, it’s a shame but know Thus . The only game that I know of is cross-play pc / ps4 / 5 is final fantasy 14, to have played the joystick / keyboard mouse gameplay worked very well
Well, you’re not going to get a response from the developers 
However there’s most likely never going to be crossplay between PC and other platforms, unless the other platforms come to PC (like gamepass)
The PC version of the game has full mod support while the console versions do not (and no… this is not something related to Sony, so the “evil cruel strict Sony” speculations are a bit off 
currently consoles are struggling to play even what the developers put into the game, with constant performance optimizations being needed after every patch just so the game runs at an acceptable level… the devs simply don’t want the headache that would come with opening that pandora’s box)
Aside from that even the way servers are set up would present an issue. Currently you can only rent console servers from Gportal. If they made the consoles be able to connect to PC servers, that exclusivity would go out the window too (not necessarily a bad thing for players).
There’s probably a whole plethora of other reasons ranging from legal to technical, but the bottom line is… you probably have a better chance at a random person on the forums buying a PC for your friend so you can play together than you “refusing to let it die” having an actual result in the form of crossplay.
Especially with the PS4… which might actually be dropped as a supported console at any moment since it’s a decade old…

My understanding is Microsoft was super twitchy about that particular issue, specifically about Xbox Gold being needed for online gaming and the concern that letting anyone host servers meant they could figure out how to bypass that requirement.
I don’t think funcom would be able to do that.
but if he pays another company competent to do this probably possible
For a example people with Xbox using their ps plus equivalent game pass can not get their pc game to run properly imagine getting playstation to cross play
Also Sony and Microsoft have proprietary software that they don’t want to share. I like the idea don’t see it happening any time soon probably. Never. @Crossplaypls
