LOL they totally went the opposite side. Now player owned thralls are just helpless, cuz Joel told them “you cannot attack players even if they are trying to kill you.” Should I just go visit every official servers and kill all the player owned thralls if I see one? Funny how devs haven’t seen the issue here.
I bet they couldn’t find the way to fix this.
It’s kinda shame because now, some players will try to kill other players’ thralls who got high tier armor sets on them.
If I play PvE official server,
I AM NOT GONNA PUT MY THRALLS OUTSIDE OF MY BASE, AND I AM NOT GONNA MAKE HIGHEST TIER ARMOR ON MY THRALL.
And I have to say this is even worse than before…
In PvE server, it is simple
Thralls and players being unable to kill each other >>> Both can kill each other >>>>>>> only players can kill thralls
And ofc this was very questionable decision from them to make this thing worse.
I guess I am just gonna stick to PvP then.
As a Roleplayer it’s absolute poison, that your thralls attack every visitor you have. No chance of creating some safe place like a guarded tavern in a hostile enviroment. And Sepermeru is not really an option, because you cannot sit on the benches there for example.
This whole system with your guardsmen needs to be thought again by funcom.
I agree with y’all, I could keep writing about how bad it is etc, but just came to update you with latest info on this, it seems they will finally fix it!

we need this fixed more than ever now, since the purge is just around the corner.
This issue has been going on from since day one of EA… I am so sick and tired of it. It annoys me every freaking time I play CE. Because as you already know and said. You can’t defend your base vs the purge. At the moment the purge is just useless to me. Even though it was the one major feature from the early days I really looked forward to.
So glad it has been spoken upon.
But if the devs decises that they are not going to fix it and make it part of the pve ruleset, i’m done playing for good. Simply gamebreaking and disapointing.
They can fix this easily, the issue is time and cost. They have a lot of other things they need to fix.

@MaxLopez84 That’s not going to be possible as Thralls are just NPCs. They don’t have any tie to the PvP or PvE ruleset at all. Sorry, but that will not change for launch.
Surely the solution could be as simple as making converted thralls passive until attacked and take minimal damage from players?
Really hope to see some kind of fix at launch or shortly thereafter! I still have faith
The change they just pushed out really does nothing. Asshats still come along and kill them because they can. So having thralls externally for defense against the purge is pointless because of said asshats.

So by now, we must think they exactly understood our concerns / complains, and are working into the fixes we requested.
I know, latest changes to thralls were disabling (or almost) their ability to attack non guildies on pve servers, and in the last hotfix, to make their health regen. Those are obviously not the changes we requested, but we may take em as steps towards the fixes we need.
Im happy to see im not the only one requesting this, as I know many suffered it, but only “a few” have been vocal about this.
Release is in a few days, lets just reming em as we are doing we want this change, and hope for the best xD
I think the bigger problem for me is being able to hurt my own thrall on my pve-c official server. I am on ps4. I want to be able to have my thrall follow me as a companion and helper but I can’t do that when my long-sword aoe slashes are killing him.
yes but you are using, afaik, a older version of conan exiles, where you can do things that are fixed on pc current patch xD
At least this was the case some days ago, where I couldnt understand some people complaining about their thralls gettin killed on pve, and then it happened they were on a old version for ps4 XD
