What!? What am I seeing? I have hallucinations - it’s time to add something to the topic…
I admit that I have not read the previous 666 comments.
We have been together for so long that we can move on to a more intimate
conversation - let’s talk about
money.
You want an exclusive item / service that is worth buying from the moment it’s published and that players keep investing in the game. You have decided on a Battle Pass, which blocks some of the content for future customers and irritates the current ones. So meatball , how do I comment on that?
Sooner or later, the psychological treatments that drive the purchase of a service and discourage it from stopping will turn against…
Because there is a catch here in disguise, on the client side
, which in the future can represent the current and the future customer at the same time (doubling the reasons for termination of service). Sooner or later there will be a situation where I (customer) miss all or part of the age (season), no matter what the reason, the nightmare will come true and although I supported the game all the time, I lose access to part of it. I will be faced with a choice whether to buy a service that is incomplete (like a new customer).
To be clear: a new customer is not making a decision whether to buy or not to buy a Battle Pass; the new customer decides whether to buy Conan Exiles or one of the 30,000 remaining games on Steam. If you decide on the exact model (that you proposed during the stream), you will be constantly presenting customers with that choice.
Let me give you a moment to think, this is a time-limited offer.
Now, back to the topic: Battle Pass - Make it! I’m serious!
Create an exclusive, limited-time offer! I know, this is not what you expected… my dear
, do not look like this
and let me finish…
Do it! In a good way. You want to use psychological methods that increase sales, go ahead - with one change. Instead of putting a time restriction on the Battle Pass, put a time restriction on the promotion on it: the current age (season) Battle Pass will be available for purchase at a discount for a while, and the previous Battle Pass will have to be purchased at full price (and you will need to complete their tasks, to get rewards). Players will have a reason to support you on a regular basis and not be afraid of losing something. From time to time, they may even skip a Battle Pass and buy it later, to show you more love only.
Note: I have no concerns for the rest of 3.0, none! Good job!
