Battle Pass Question

So being completely new to Battle Passes, I am hoping someone can clear up a few questions. I saw a video where you will be able to buy $10 and higher worth of crom coins. So to just get access to the full first battle pass, do I get access to that from the crom coins, from that basic $10 payment, and therefore if I bought $50 worth of crom coins, I could buy the Battle Pass and use the rest of the crom coins in the bazaar?

And from the initial purchase of a battle pass, the video said, completing all challenges will reward me with all of the individual challenges rewards (decor / potions etc) and enough crom coins to purchase the next battle pass. So, providing I dont spend coins at the bazaar, with the initial $10 payment, if I do all the challenges, I can theoretically get access to the full first and upcoming second battle pass?

Thanks if anyone can clear up how this all works.

Welcome to the forums! :star_struck:

It sounds like you have a pretty healthy understanding of how Conan’s new battle pass will work. Obviously we will know more details once it is released to the public tomorrow (Sept. 1st).

Your understanding is, to this one’s knowledge, correct.

Yes @Kornux , that’s why I specified:

We all patiently await it’s arrival.

Yes. It’s almost September 2nd for me. :frowning: I really want to see what FUNCOM has prepared for us. I played on the test server, but the battle pass and the market were not there. I would rather already.

Are we there yet?

Ahem.
Yes, technically if you buy the first Battle Pass with whichever amount of Crom Coins it ends up costing, and faithfully play it to level 57 or so (where the last Crom Coins reward is), you get enough coins to purchase the next Battle Pass, so theoretically that one-time purchase gives you a lifetime of battle passes.

This is, of course, subject to change. Future Battle Passes are not guaranteed to give enough coins to buy the next Pass. The plan for now is to provide enough coins, but depending on how well the new system starts working, the people holding the purse strings may decide to change the system.

They lost me with this bazaar/battle pass. Prior DLC’s were $15 and now to get the same amount of items we were getting it look as though it will be more than twice that amount, quick math was $45 to purchase enough crowns to get what was in prior dlc’s from the bazaar. Unacceptable imo and so I’ll leave this game behind and free up 85gigs of space lol

I know. Why the hell am I paying $45 to $80 a month for a single DLC worth of items, when I can buy a brand new game with that money?

FC needs to get real. Conan may be fun. But I’ll go with free modder content over extortion and outrageous prices.

Some of the Bazaar stuff, especially the discounted items, seem to be reasonably priced for the amount of content. Others less so.

As I said in another thread, we vote with our wallets. If there are certain items no-one will buy, it’ll send a message to the marketing team to reconsider the prices.

Comparing these prices to the old DLCs is both unfair and unrealistic. If the old DLC model had been reliably profitable, Funcom wouldn’t have needed another monetization method. So whatever we used to get is no longer a valid point of comparison. What we need to do is take these Bazaar items and their prices as an entirely separate entity and determine whether the prices are acceptable in their own context.

Taking inflation into account, I’ve seen the price of a liter of milk increase ten-fold in the last 40 years. But I can’t go to a supermarket and complain about their outrageous prices just because milk was so much cheaper in my childhood. But if the supermarket sold low-quality milk at a high price, and another company sold good milk for a reasonable price, that would be a valid reason for feedback.

You can’t really take pricing over 40 years and compare it to value across only a couple years. That isn’t accurate at all because the value of money itself changes across that amount of time.

Hell, even in the last two years prices have shot up. Doesn’t mean the stuff is worth more now. It’s companies gouging people due to the pandemic losses the incurred.

You want examples?

Powerade sold for $0.79 for a 32oz bottle. Then they shrink-flationed it down to a 28oz bottle by putting a lot of divots into the bottle itself, so it looks the same size, but holds 4oz less.

But with the pandemic? Now Powerade is $1.25 for that same bottle. The sales that used to see it sold for $0.59 are now lucky to see $0.89. Gatorade has gone from $1 to $1.69 in that same span.

And I 100% don’t buy either any more, and will not as long as they are gouging like that. Don’t give me BS about supply chains and driving for that amount of increase in cost.

The Bazaar stuff is just as overpriced. Nothing I’ve seen in it is remotely within reasonable prices for the amount of stuff you’re getting. And it’s digital content. Create it once, then mass market it.

So there is absolutely NO excuse for it to be such a high price. They aren’t having to create physical items that require materials or labor. It’s a one-off item they never have to touch again.

This is Tencent greed, pure and simple. Anyone that tries to justify it, is wrong.

So, today’s battle pass.

Kill 10 Dogs of the Desert
Kill 10 Birds
Harvest Crystal 10 times
Clear the Dregs
Harvest Black Lotus twice

Everyone getting this? I wanna confirm whether we are, in fact, all getting the exact same challenges, meaning there is no scaling for low level characters as they said, but instead a group with some low level and some high level ones.

The battlepass is bought with crom coins.
Crom coins are bought with $. so there is an intermediary step of buying the coins first.

On the other hand, the battlepass will give you the coins back if you proceed it to the end, so you could buy the next battlepass using same coins if you play enough!

I believe the challenges are randomized(different) for each player separately, cause you get new challenge if you claim one.

You can play without the battle pass you know…a dislike of a battle pass doesn’t mean you jump straight to quit and uninstall. I mean you weren’t just playing Conan for the DLCs now were you? Didn’t you just enjoy playing the game?

Yep, until FC decides they aren’t make enough profit off it, and we get less Crom coins per Battle Pass, to force us to keep buying them.

At which time I, and probably many others, will immediately drop it.

I’m not paying $10 per Battle Pass.
Then I have to grind through a bunch of inane and random “challenges” to get what I am paying for. Then having to grind resources to actually craft those rewards as well.

One time, sure. But every time? Not a chance. Most other Battle Passes I’ve seen, were free with a paid option to add bonus rewards on top of the standard ones.

The only free stuff we get in the current BP is a bunch of one-use junk items.

Funny, when I got the Battle Pass yesterday, I didn’t get any new options for clearing until after I had did a reroll. Meaning you can get 3 rerolls per day, according to what I’m seeing.

Haven’t checked mine yet, but it looks like every player is getting the same challenges (at least in the beginning of the challenge cycle).

I dont know about you, maybe you had it bugged or something. For me the challenge slot is never empty. If I claim one, I immediately get a new one.

Laugh if you want to, and I’m not playing dumb. I just don’t get it.

I looked at the BP Tab, looked at the Challenges, broke an iron node and got a message telling me I was 1/10 of the way to Challenge 1. I mean, I get the Challenges. But how do you “level” your Battle Pass?

Sorry, it just doesn’t seem intuitive. #BPVirgin

Most battle passes are levelled by experience aren’t they? I think Wak4863 on You Tube explains passes in depth so have a look there. Nobody is calling you dumb mate.
