For reference, the second tier of buyable CC is AU$29.19 which isn’t enough to buy this.
How is this ever going to be worth over $30AU? I must admit. I have bought a fair bit on the Bazaar since its inception, but there comes a point where it has to stop. Funcom (or Tencent) or whoever is authorising these prices is killing what good faith and the general desire to play keep supporting this game.
I can’t see what they are charging for DLC these days as I bought them when they came out. I can only imagine. I know prices have gone up worldwide but this is ridiculous. I realise that I could just not buy things and that may be the answer, but I would like to keep supporting this game, just a more realistic prices.
I can only hope that somebody read this feedback and listen although I don’t hold out much hope considering almost every review done by the game’s content creators says the same thing. Great art but too expensive - CAN"T RECOMMEND. Does Funcom hear this?
Bazaar is broken in many ways. You do not own item in offline mode. FOMO prevents casual (=no time to play every day, not even every week) players to buy actually anything. Every time when I checked there where nothing I was waiting for and missed some week ago.
I’m not the one who complains about prises. Hobbies are usually expensive. But in my case that there are no offline ownership and unnecessary FOMO has made me invest in several other games. (last month or two Wartales (+all DLCs), and now Crusader Kings III (owned few weeks and already bought several dlcs…) => less and less time playing or investing CE, while waiting for example Yamatai Tower set to happen to be in Bazaar while I log in…
Yes, I have made a post beforehand regarding the ownership thing. If Conan does shut down as a live service game then I would hope that they do the right thing. You bought it, you own it. It should be available even if they kill this game with their penny-pinching practices.
I am not usually one to complain about prices either. I don’t mind spending money on something that I will enjoy. It’s only when I actually started looking at what the translation is that I decided to think twice about it. I know I am not the only one feeling this way either. Not to mention the people who just can’t afford it.
I liked the Battlepass for that reason. It was cheap, accessible and a little fun added to the game loop. I was sad to see it go. In a way, the BP was the new DLCs of the game. It even added to the some story progression.
The fact that this is all we are left with now to “support the game” is worrying because a lot of people simply won’t engage with this theft. I worry that these are the sorts of practices that will outright kill this game and allow Tencent to make the call regardless of how enthusiastic the dev team may be. That’s my problem. This game has so much potential and love form the community.
I whole heartily agree with this thread However, i am guilty of purchasing from the bazaar here and there. I have noticed that there are times when things are on “sale” or are just priced really weird for no reason. For example the Dungeon set which is like the combined original set of foundations AND the expansion pieces like the round walls , gargoyle etc.. was up on the bazaar for 600 CC, i think both when they originally came out were like 800 CC each, so i snatched it up. Two Weeks Later! the same set was on the bazaar for 1060 CC, the only difference…it had the coffin. The one i bought did not, i dont give a crap about a coffin but like 400 CC differance for a coffin? Wierd, again i agree the bazaar is awful, but I shop the bazaar like i shop at the grocery store, deals deals deals
A great start if you ask me Kanza. It is not an issue limited to Conan Exiles, but one becoming increasingly endemic within the industry. Virtual currencies serve no purpose other than to decive the customer of and obfuscate the the true price, and to swindle the individual out of ownership of the item the purchased in good faith. They are as dishonest as they are uneccessary, and I hope that one day we will legislation put this awful practice to rest, once and for all. Items should be listed and paid for with real currency only, i.e.- USD, EUD, AUD and so forth.
Let’s hope that this marks the end of deceptive practices that these companies employ. I am very happy to hear it is starting to be noticed as it can be just as damaging as addiction and gambling. Not to mention children with credit card access.
Funny enough, I came here to ask if Bazar prices had dropped. Because Corinthian Stargazer is 2890 but 4 (well 3 really) Sorcerer Armors that came in today cost 750, which is… almost reasonable? Well at least way better. For the first time I consider buying something other than building pieces.
Unfortunately, the bazaar prices don’t seem to have any logical (at least that I understand anyway) definition to them. I remember awhile back I was watching one of Eradication’s reviews about the fancy elevator and I checked it out and it was more expensive than one of the good build sets at the time. Might have been the Yamatai extension or the Pyramid, either way, that is just stupid. But it all comes down to how much real world money you want to spend. I have been guilty of buying some things that I really wanted and didn’t consider what it actually cost at the time. That is only a recent development, hence this post.
Yes! i’m not sure if anyone is doing this, but tracking and analyzing the weird values put on some of the bazaar items as they appear as single items or sets and in bundles would be quite interesting. I dont think there is like an actual “formula” to it but the data might reveal something.
Build sets always seem to be the best bang for the buck, usually ranging between 800-1200 Crom coins (more now they’ve started splitting the additions into multiple versions).
Placeables seem to be the worst offenders, often sitting around 750 coins for a single item, with sets costing 2-3x more than building. Armor usually falls somewhere in between.
It does seem like some of the older stuff has been getting a steeper discount (if you’ve been watching/waiting for something for awhile and keep missing it, thus you’re more aware of the price of that particular set).
According to reports, Dune will neither have a store nor Battlepass. This may be indicative of a back-to-the-roots approach with premium game + DLC + DLC bundles.
So Funcom, if you want to empty your CE Bazar “storage” with a heavy discount with the option to rollback to the former DLC strategy - count me in.
