Well, I contacted their costumer service about it since I naively thought it was a bug at first. We’ll see what they’ll have to say about it.
I was only talking about the thread engagement. I understand there are still lots of places with limited internet. There are even still places with limited hot water, or even drinkable water.
Aaaah, that makes sense. So you think that people don’t notice or care that what they pay a hefty price for is merely the entitlement to use something? I’m too old to find this normal maybe.
I do think its a secondary concern for most. If the bazaar/bp isnt available for me, my mind immediately turns to resolving my internet connection issues because if its on funcom’s end, I would have gotten the “Funcom Live Services are currently unavailable” popup. No internet means my wife is without a means to do her work.
That’s well into the future (even in limpmode, they’d still be wanting to sell existing items to anyone still playing) but in that case it would likely involve a patch that localized the information like past dlc. I wouldnt even be surprised if there wasnt a method to do this being looked at now. Probably security from unauthorized users is the concern for now. If the game was abandoned this would cease to be a concern.
This issue doesn’t even need to be about the levels of internet availability. Many people like to play single player on an old PC/Laptop so the world remains persistent to alleviate issues like the Meteor Shower needing the player in the area for a certain amount of time in single player. It’s best to run such a LAN connection through it’s own router and Ethernet cables. That requires you to switch the connection on your network card from your Internet network to the Local Area Network of the second router. That means losing that internet connection and access to the Bazaar and Battle Pass items.
What other companies do, whether in gaming or other media, is secondary. The anti-consumerist practices of other companies in defense of the decision here is a topic entirely deserving of it’s own posting. This game was advertised as having LAN support, and losing access to those items is a lack of support for LAN gaming.
Well, i hope for the best but expect the worst at this point.
It’s a crowd that paid for early access broken game that is still broken after 5 years.
You can’t expect reason from people who pay up front for something that does not work.
If I was a game producer I’d shown them the middle finger after they bough the game, after all I have my money, why bother with finishing the game…
They deserve that.

00:01 “Hey guys, look at my Vanir building set, my set is amazing!”
Not a fan of having to have a connection to the internet to access BLB / BP content I’ve purchased. What if I want to play Conan in say, 10 years on my console? This game isn’t GTA Online or Skyrim, it’s support will end at some point, rendering all BLB content useless
I almost got the Vanir building set bundle because the “sale” price it’s listed at for the full set is what I think they should be basing their pricing on for all content. Give or take $15 for a complete building set is reasonable IMO, but this really pushed me away from getting it honestly. I just can’t justify the purchase for something I don’t have access too in the future or on my LAN server.
Ended up just downloading Northern Timber and getting Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor instead. Yeah, gotta use the EA DRM for it but at least their launcher has and offline mode so I can still play the game whenever, even though my issue is more about the LAN support.
I’m relatively sure that as long as the Funcom Live service exists, we will also have access to our purchases. Even if Conan Exiles stops being developed at a certain point. So let’s hope Funcom doesn’t go bankrupt any time soon. If Dune is a dismal failure, it could pull the plug quicker than we’d like.
Well, made me not wanna play for the past few days and I still kinda don’t wanna. I still think its a great game, but I just can’t get past the sh***yness of these buisness practises. Don’t feel like supporting this kind of buisness model, never have. Don’t think I’ll make an exception here…
So you don’t have any trouble buying from coins ? I’m playing via steam and purchased ingame 5000 from coins 3 days ago but didn’t get any coins yet.
Anyone else has the same issue ? My support ticket is also open for 3 days now and still no reply.
There is a simple solution. Play the game and ignore the shop. You do not ever HAVE to buy anything from the shop. Ever. There is nothing in there that you need in order to play the game. So if you think that it is a great game, then play it. If you feel that the practices of the shop are garbage, then do not partake in them.
Where are you based? We had a dude from Ukraine recently having similar issues. It seems that Funcom is not accepting purchases in certain currencies or something like that.
I live in Germany so I don’t think that’s the issue here.
Bought it via steam ingame and I already talked with steam support, on their end everything was successful. So it is a problem on funcom end. And they really have the worst support ever worldwide, 3 days and still no answer.
The thing is i really wanted the aesir and nemedian watchtower set but the chance is to get them is gone now.
90% percent of the new content comes from the bazaar and the season pass. Without new stuff, CE becomes repetative and stale very quickly. I mean, we talk about a game where every enemy has a fixed spawnpoint. Not many surprises in PVE conan and PVP is not my thing.
My solution was to move on to other games I haven’t played way past their expiration date.
