Bazaar Sets that Cost as much as a DLC

YES, set your goal posts far enough and everyone is a whale. And when everyone is, no one is right?
Drop the bar low enough and anyone can step over it.

Not how it works, words, even game terms have definitions

“When we talk about a whale in gaming, we’re referring to a distinct group of players who stand apart for their spending habits. These are not your average players; a mobile game whale is someone who spends far more than the typical player, often contributing a substantial portion of a game’s revenue”.

So your average player is in no way a whale. Got the battle pass? Bought an item here and there. You’re not a whale. Buy everything on the page when a new one comes up, well, you’re whale.

And for those that think not shopping at the bazarr is some how telling funcom something. Each whale sale cancels out a dozen protesting nonsales. That is why nothing in the bazaar is ever going to change. funcom never feels your withheld dollars.

I’m not withholding my dollars in protest, I simply will not shop any where with a buyer beware policy, and prices bordering on gouging. And even if they halved the prices I still wont shop till there is a satisfaction guarantee. As I have said, I wont even spend funcoms croms at the bazaar.

Whatever you wanted to buy, buy it next month when the combat is fixed

I am the average player. I have purchased no crom coins. In this case everyone who has spent more is a whale, white knight, FC shill, slave to tencent, fool with their money, worse than a previous german chancellor, and the epitome of all evil and wrong in the world. If you have spent more than me, then your word is clouded by the foolishness of buying evil nasty things by an evil corporation seeking the downfall of existence itself.

If that sounds ridiculous its because jealousy is ridiculous.

And the way you define whale is also ridiculous:

Right now at the moment everything on the page is ~8800 crom coin. To be able to purchase everything on the shop requires purchases to equate to 8800 crom coin. At the very minimum you need to have spent $60 in crom coin or ~$50 if you bought it during the sale.

But oh no
you’re only a whale if you purchased it at once. If you spent $80 over an arbitrary period of time (probably some nebulous value) buying the 1200 crom coin pack to buy little things
‘here and there’. Then you’re not a whale. Oh no, by spending $20-30 more than a frugal person, buying singular items ala carte outside of bundles. You’re not an cosmically evil whale.

But therein lies the problem. You won’t and CAN’T give a concrete value of what makes a whale and what doesn’t. You want to make the statement that everyone who bought everything is a whale. What about those who bought all but one thing? All but two things? Or do you want to bring it down to half? What about those who bought one item less than half? What is the number of items, number of Crom Coin, or total amount of real money spent that constitutes a whale? You won’t have an answer for that.

Even if someone did, it wouldn’t be one that is widely accepted. Its always going to be some arbitrary number higher than what oneself wants to spend. Because they aren’t content with what they have when someone else has more.

You accuse me of moving goalposts. I have the integrity to place down my goalposts and cement them. While you want to put yours on a rolling nebulous undefinable standard that is pretty much the platform on wheels that a trashcan sits on. Blowing over the moment a fart in the wind kicks up.

Let me tell you how this actually works Deacon. I haven’t purchased a single Crom Coin. I’ve made that very clear in this thread and others. If someone dropped a Million USD into the crom coin shop, it wouldn’t make a lick of difference to me. If they bought every item 100x over on separate accounts. It would have no effect on me. It has zero effect on anyone else. Other then hurting their pride.

If there’s enough Whales to turn a profit for CE, then yes they absolutely should ignore the protesters. Because at the end of the day, Conan Exiles is a LUXURY. One that requires at a minimum a platform that on average is 2-3 months of groceries. So lets not (overact) about how we’re being disparaged by others making harmless purchases.

But if you honestly believe this is the case, then you all have more faith in the success of the game than I have.

Conan is their cash grab to fund Dune.

They will likely carry this model over to Dune so if you don’t like what they’re doing, stop buying these games. They won’t change this because it’s profitable.

That said, there are a lot of developers creating sandbox castle building games.

Enshrouded, Pax Dei, Ashes of Creation are just a few on the horizon that look to overshadow anything Funcom could put out. They got trapped in the profit game and making video games that are fun and enjoyable is second now. I will play this one until a better option comes along, but this is the last Funcom game I’ll play.

FYI: I own 7 Complete editions and have spent about $100 on my main account for battle pass stuff. I’m done with the FOMO and lack of an actual store to purchase things.

It’s insulting and when a developer starts insulting me, I move on.

What about the new pieces, the non-foundation chunk ones?

This one heard there were facing issues on the two high doorway and that the wall pieces don’t fit flush and there are largish gaps. Haven’t seen it for this one’s self and was curious.

Also, how well does the spiral staircase work?
What footprint does it fit in?

You see, it’s only my point of view, but like Tamien, I do not think we should call people names, because the relationship we have with money is different for each individual. For you, a client who spends now and then in the shop will be the average player. For Tamien, an average player is someone who spends just like him. For me an average player is about everyone in Conan because even if they were to get EVERY item the bazaar offers, they would still get it in only one examplar (one crafting receipe), not buy it in hundreds of examplars (like the crafted pieces in some games - and for that matter, the bazaar tells you when you already have the item, they don’t just let you buy it multiple times!).

Are people who buy everything cancelling out what people not buying do? My answer would be that their purchases are irrelevant in the balance to outweight other people’s (non) purchases, they only count for themselves. Afterall, I very much doubt the company would fix their sale objectives based on the possibility that some clients would buy everything in the shop. It’s not even that big of a shop to start with. But once again, it’s just my opinion, it is not objective at all. But hey, grass is always greener in the neighbour’s garden. :herb:

Is it frustrating not being able to buy when the prices are too expensive for your wallet? (not you-Deacon, it’s a manner of speach in general) I can relate, I get frustrated not earning enough at times. But you know, I just had to be smarter and luckier in life, spend less somewhere else to buy without sweating in the bazaar, or something? And yes, I still do think the prices of the bazaar are overpriced compared to what you get in an open market platform which sells 3D cosmetics and animations and allows you to use them for an infinite amount of times. Games are such divas in general, I swear.
But there is no point in calling people names because their spendings are not like yours.

My thoughts about it is
Why mention Dune? Managing their money is their business, and our only business is to care about what we actually have in Conan. They never said “give us your money, and we will inject it all back in Conan”, stop wishing and focus on what you have for real. Do you like the game enough to play it like Tamien even though you do not buy in the bazaar, or do you hate it so much that you want to stop playing? Either way it is, just choose what is healthy for you.

Isso nĂŁo funciona assim acho que estĂĄ com ilusĂŁo de iniciante XD

I’m using the Forlorn Dungeon set with Aesir to build Dragonsreach from Skyrim. No issues with either sets. Going for accuracy with the interior, so the build is rather big.

By who’s measure?

It sounding ridicules has nothing to do with jealousy.

That isn’t my definition it is THE definition.

If there wasn’t they would have changed their prices, and guaranteed their content. The fact they haven’t seems proof enough.

We aren’t the ones measuring what the average player is. It’s the games average not our opinion of what average is.

Your definition is ‘this number that is kinda close to this and somewhat close to that.’ Which is less than $50 and more than $70.

True, but we are not given the information concerning their clients and their purchases, that data is something only Funcom knows. So the “average” is just speculation on our end, that is, opinions. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

cosmetic only is okay, but this dev doesnt only make cosmetic only, but also some P2W ( ex. op pet, OP 4x hp building, etc)

You’re making an assumption that I can’t afford it though. I can, but won’t buy it on principle alone. So this whole theory about “envy” and “classes” is nonsense.

I remember someone buying a piece of Elvis Presley’s poop on auction for several millions of dollars. I guess we aren’t supposed to mock that either? We’re all simply “envious” of that buyer

I did this on 76 and I will do it here too. Petty vanity in pixels is what makes me happy. :joy:

When we don’t have access to mods on consoles, we have to make do with what is offered.

The definition I gave you had no numbers. So just what are you on about?
