Although I did not see this in the patch notes, none of the Bearer IIIs I slay drop alchemical base any longer. It appears to have been replaced by bear pelts.
On Siptah, with gold and silver littering th landscape, this is not an issue. In the Exiled Lands, this merely increases the grind factor as alchemical base is required for Epic gear, advanced stations, and maprooms.
The Silver Mine is an accessible area for silver, but gold ore is only found in rare drops and the volcano. Gold coins, powder, and bars are a drop in Buccaneer Bay, amoung other areas, but, as stated, this is and RNG for quantity and availability and, thus, increases the grind substantially.
With the new perk, “Efficient Harvest” (final hit grants twice as many recourse), I’m getting substantially more gold output. Although, it was nice to get an occasional alchemical base drop from bearers, I never farmed them because it always felt like I was cheating the system.
I don’t have this experience. The last two I killed gave me 500 and 250 respectively. Both in Serpermeru. I will retest though just to confirm it is still the case.
I was worried about this after seeing no base in the packs from 4-5 bearers. The have changed the loot tables for bearer packs since I’m seeing plant fiber in the 3.0 packs.
I used the admin panel to spawn 5 T3 bearers and found base in 2 of the 5 packs, so lets hope this isn’t a change.
If this is a real change, well I know where all 4 of the gold rocknoses live.
They lowered the drop chance sometime back even before AoS on retail game servers but it does still drop. I had a decent 1250 base out of 10 to 12 bearers. Bearers are easy to farm. There’s up to 5 in and around the Black Galleon and a few in the Den.
Not quite. Supply Materials were previously bugged.
They are supposed to have four possible drop tables, and each drop table can have one or more possible items. The bug caused the fourth drop table to never be selected.
T3 Bearer Supply Materials’ fourth drop table is Bear Pelt, Ivory, Feline Pelt.
I am not sure exactly how the tables are randomized, but if each has an equal chance, then pre-3.0, the odds of getting Alchemical Base would be 33%, but with the fourth table fixed, post-3.0 will reduce those odds to 25%.

I doubt it. There are too many players who rely on bearers for their goods. It would make it just that much harder to build bases around the map due to lack of resources. The volcano would become battle-royale… on digging for gold.
