Merging servers I really dont think anyone at Funcom plays this game. I have been playing this game since the beginning with over 10k hours on multiple accounts. I can understand the reason for merging but what I don’t understand is why are the people being merged being punished? First, how can anyone take anything with them even with unlimited inventory that’s is at best what 6 chests? Second, all the fighter thralls and the time lost training equipping acquiring, how can you defend your new base? Third, you are dropping us into a meat grinder where clans that are on the server not being moved know the date when all these people are coming with only their best loot just to gank them. Fourth, we can not move our stuff ourselves using the character transfer feature because there are no new characters creations allowed on servers being merged. So I ask you why are we(people being merged) being punished? I really don’t think Funcom thought this through as far as the people that actually play the game but more about their pocketbooks and I really think you gonna see a serious loss of people that play the game behind this move. How many times shall we be punished?
Being as more people asked for merges over the last few years than asked to not be merged, who exactly do you think is correct here?
They asked for the merges knowing full well what the consequences would be. What makes them wrong and you right?
It’s not about the merge so much as why I have to lose all my property and can not use the transfer feature to move my stuff now?
Its not a matter of asking for it but there is definitely a need for FC to maximize the solvency of the game to keep it running efficiently. The stuff, the building, the thralls…that’s not as critical for me as the memories of how all of that came to be. The clans and allies throughout the years; friends now actually. The betrayals and near complete loss. The first boss fight, the first raid I did, the first raid I received…those are what matter…not the number of SoC or how many Teimos’s are sitting around picking their noses…or even how many rooms the new wing has.
still doesnt make sence the people geting merged lose everything while people in destination server get to keep everything. you seem like your trying to argue just for the sake of it.
Id be fine with this if all servers got wiped. FUNCOM=THANOS snaping away half of everything…
What I can’t move anything I can not transfer back to my main server to get my stuff why is FC stopping me from getting my stuff?
Yep and I got the real short straw…but I knew it once they announced it because I knew my storage server (yeah not just one server base of stuff but five) was going to be on the block…I picked that server because of the amount of traffic it gets and how statistically safe it is. Once it came clear that inventory slots were not going to be changed…it was over and there comes a time of peace when you know you are getting the shaft but you still continue the routine (like the end scene of Don’t Look Up with them around the dinner table) . Anyways use the time wisely and scout your new location. Make sure you recreate that character on the target server else you may get a surprise (don’t assume it’s going to be alright because they have a plan, no offense FC, just don’t add more risks to what you have left)
That…I haven’t a clue. You would think it wouldn’t affect anyone to allow this but maybe they want to clear it out and not have additional characters to move over at the date.
That’s cute! I did scout and now I can’t get back HELLO? Character creation is not being allowed on servers being merged so I can not transfer back with my LVL 60 character

We’ve had this discussion a few times over the years. We pointed out that if a server was merged, someone would lose and someone wouldn’t. It was still requested. We were told they wouldn’t mind it.
The only true way is to combine the merge with a full wipe, but I can’t even begin to imagine the resulting firestorm.
I don’t mind it but I would like to move my stuff now because I can’t bring all my stuff on the day of the merger, shouldn’t I be able to move my stuff isn’t everyone entitled to make their own opinion and use the character transfer feature?

I can understand that but a notification of not being able to transfer characters to and from merging servers should have been made very clear before the dates were set, now what do I do I only have one character in the system to move my entire base? that’s not cool
Yeah I agree and unless you were in the thick of the trimming thread and following it with extreme focus, you would miss these little tidbits that came up within the first days of it. When this came out and the estimated 2+ week notice I was thinking oh well I can pop in and back 2-3 times before then no problem…then I specifically asked the point where the answer came back you can leave but you cannot return as no new characters can enter into the server marked for death. You got the one so that is just over 200 slots. Plus there are vets that have volunteered to assist folks throughout the forum. Your story made me realize we needed a better way to hook up those that need help and those that offer so I created a Trimming Calls for Help thread. I am sorry about this.
i dont know where you get your info, or who ‘they’ or 'We" are but IM pissed and i no everyone whos on a merge server is too, so speak for youself not these invisable We and They people.?
