Blood rework is bad

What’s the point of reducing corruption? Eldritch Scourge can heal through the damage, Lilith’s Lab Notes and Tom of Void are now even more useless than they were before.

Blood was incredible fragile solo. And pretty much the only weapon where you could kill yourself multiple ways over, be it selfdamage (on top of whatever is trying to murder you) or reduction of selfheal into nothing. There are ways against it but they come with a prize tag and only brought it into manageable territory. It as such was in the same vein as the adressing of other outliers like KSR, Inverter or Blade.

As Leo said, Blood got some attention to address its shortcomings in solo and healing situations. A pass on its extraordinary weapons is still due. And I think it’s worth reiterating that this isn’t a dps balance pass.

The corruption situation is indeed a curious one and had a few of us stumped. It looks like it’s not dealing as much damage at the high end of the scale (90+) as it should be. Prior to that, a single self-heal keeping you from bleeding yourself to death is exactly as it should be. That’s why the mechanic got changed in the first place.

i am going to add that many more blood focuses are garbage now. many weapons need rework as there are plenty useless skills. its general problem of combat and weapon design

Doing a bit of testing on the dummies in agartha. Doing every disservice to myself on the healing part, and what i could to bleed myself as fast as possible on the damage part, i found that i very, very slowly die.

Taking it against one of the winter champions, the same setup got me killed quite quickly. Making a somewhat decent build, including Absolution and Eldritch Scourge with its passive, There was no real concern about dying. AA was 100% dps. I would say it tracks with my experience against the Winter Champion on my Blade/Ele build.

At no point did i feel like i had any reason to decorrupt.

now it is very hard to die with blood. With passive and eldritch scourge i dont remember even dropping below 50% on e17 da. these changes are nice for blood, but it completely negates idea of blood as weapon.

I don’t agree with that. Blood is still the only weapon that requires at least one source of healing (an active and a passive count as two for me) just to negate the incoming damage from its own mechanic.

okay, i will restate it. blood used to be a weapon which required decorrupt management or you die. Now this mechanic is pretty much non existent.

I havent been touching blood for years, so i can say i am newb blood user, but with just stupid button mashing i was able to do e17 hardest solo content that says something. I am going to say even more now blood dont need more than passive and scourge plus cruel to keep themselves. I was not using anything else like basic heal or so.

So these changes taking everything from blood design it was meant to be. I can suggest maybe to give blood some ability to control damage from all sources… maybe some stuff like immutable to death if your health drop below zero and you have to decorrupt or die. It would also open possibilities to use blood for tanking

They also nerfed the damage and healing boost. It used to be 50+%. I guess now it’s about 40% like every other weapon, the cool speciality is gone and Blood now is a no-brainer.
