I was just wondering if anyone of you guys were using this weapon for PVE?
Wasnāt it nerfed to the point of, err, pointlessness? Never had it drop myself, and I donāt feel like farming for it in its current state.
I honestly wouldnt even bother with it anymore roro4066. It was nerfed into the ground, and now only restores 1 hp every 5 seconds. A bowl of Gruel literally heals better. It is basically an oversized paperweight now.
I hadnāt got the chance to see this item while it was still pretty OP either. But today i said, ok now i have to find a use for all those spears we have in our cupboard, or else i just throw them all away.
Yep pretty much, iād say.
i gave it to my follower, Nothing happenedā¦
i tried it myself, Nothing happenedā¦
Thatās why i was wondering if just only one person was using it or not. No one is using it on my server either btw.
last Week i gave one of those to an other player thinking, it must still be a decent item for sureā¦now i feel bad about it.
Ah ok thank you for the info, didnāt know that.
Now this explains why i was seeing Nothing happening for me and my follower.
Must habe been the savory meat in her inventory and my passive health regen then probably.
is there even any use for PVP then? this is the question.
if not, then why not simply remove it from the game or even better: rework it again.
Itās a rare legendary item after all !!!
Anyway, thanks for your answers guys, it helped.
Item should be removed from UC or the game completelyā¦
It was once good then nerfed and then forgotten.
Because some buffs give more regen then that
Not really, even its base damage of 43 is pretty low. It is largely this way due to complaints from PvPers who are commonly cited as saying it was an āinsta-heal itemā and it ātrivialised healingā. There were also complaints that it made it too easy for runners to heal up. However there were already ways to catch runners in place.
Exactly! In its current state it may as well be removed, so that it is not reducing our chances of worthwhile Legendaries. I was really hoping that it would just get a rework, and there would be some kind of mid ground rebalancing, however it never eventuated. I even created a Poll in which the overwhelming majority of the community called for the Sword of Crom and Lifeblood Spear to be restored to their pre-nerf values. However it fell on deaf ears. A link to the Poll is posted below if you are interested.
Exactly this.
There is a comparable issue with the ghost/ ghast corrupted axe dropped by the wraith boss too. is it any usefull? personnally i fail to see how interesting it may be. and everytime i see it droping from the boss, i think " thatsās some loot chances for the sword of crom wasted"
Thank you for the link.
As i fully agree the lifeblood spear needs a lot more love from funcom or Simply a pure and simple removal, i think the sword of crom is fine in its current state.
I was, up until they nerfed it. Then it joined other useless relics on my armory wall
It was great for PVE. No need to carry healing items, just put it in the hotbar and heal while running around. No need to carry healing arrows for your thrall, just give it to them for a while, until theyāre back to full health.
Butā¦
To be fair, I canāt see how thatās false. I donāt play PVP, but in PVE it made certain encounters trivial. The Sunken City was a piece of cake: fight the bosses until youāre low, then equip it and run in circles until youāre ready to get back into the fray.
I miss being able to use it, but I can totally see why it was nerfed
I have never agreed with this scenario myself. I hsve always felt it to be an exaggeration, or perhaps even just tall tale. But maybe others just used it differently to myself. Here is the thing. Assuming the player has Vitality 30 as most do, it is then 1:28 of running around with it equipped to get back to full health from empty, more if ones Vitality is higher, and if you are hit during the process its effect would cut out. I personally didnt have the time or patience to perform this Life of Brian inspired manouvere while waiting for my health to refill, it was just way faster and more convenient to use healing items. Thralls may well have been another story though. I never gave mine to a thrall.
But that argument aside, I still strongly feel it should have been adjusted back up to around either 1 or 2 hp per second when we consider the support levels for calls to de-nerf it.
I know I did, at least.
Thatās all true, but there are other factors to consider. Healing items can ā and will, eventually ā run out. Plus, those that donāt have a decay timer are heavy and stack up to 10 only. Those that are light and stack higher have a decay timer.
On the other hand, the Lifeblood Spear is always there. Put it in the hotbar and equip it to start healing. If you get hit, just double-press that hotbar button. I understand thatās a much more dangerous and problematic action on a console, but my experience comes from playing on PC, where itās super-easy to do so.
On top of all that, you can carry a certain amount of normal healing items, so youāll get insane healing if you combine them all.
Like I said, I miss it, but I can see why people found it overpowered
I wouldnāt permanently give it to a thrall either. I would carry mine and only temporarily make the thrall equip it to heal. Again, it was super comfy.
Hereās one important detail about my playstyle: I like to carry everything Iāll need with me. Pickaxe, cleaver, skinning knife, bearer pack, gas mask, truncheon (or Lovetap), bindings, food, dedicated healing items, bedroll, two waterskins, weapon repair kits, torch, plus a bloody arsenal (hammer, spear, daggers, axe, shield, bow and arrows). When you play like that, weight becomes an interesting problem. Yes, I know itās lazy, but Iām a lazy guy
When you take that into account, you can see how Lifeblood Spear was extra comfy for a guy like me, compared to carrying at least 10 ambrosia and some a bunch of healing arrows (on top of regular ammo).
What if they just added a +10 Vit boost. this would jump you from 3rd to 4th perk, or 4th to 5th, giving it a mjor bonus, but at the same time tieing it to your build and noremal perks.
I do think it was a kinda busted item back in its hay day but they definitely over nerfed it WAYYY too much. I donāt understand the thought process behind nerfing its damage to uselessness and then also nerfing its healing into nonexistence. Damage wasnāt even a problem, it would have been fine with just a bit of a regen nerf, maybe extra passive regen like 2 per second instead of it being a true healing item.
Canāt blame pvpers on this one because Iām 100% sure none of us even wanted it to be gutted like it was. We just wanted the healing to be balanced.
And now that i think about it, maybe they should just focus on the +(att)s on legendary weapons. I think the imbalance always come for the āmagicalā effect. The + system is more intune with builds. It would allow people more freedom of builds, and not be another mechanicn in combat (npc or pvp) that needs to balance across the board. think about the logistics of it. Right now there are your str, acc, grit, enemy vit, enemy armor, animations, dmg, AP, debuffs, hit boxes that are intertwined every time you swing to get the amount of dmg and stam usage. the added perks just add more areas that can go off kilt. By doing the +att system, it allows for them to focus on what is most common in the game (items i listed) and not have that wild card screw it up.
using a car as example:
If i tune up by base engine with the right spark plugs, gas mix, battery, tires to what i like, then all of a sudden there is a wild card air intake, i have to re-balance all that. And anytime i add more and more components to the perfect build, everything has to be re-tuned.
You know mate I am EXACTLY the same, and I used this same approach when I played Skyrim. One could make a valid face saving argument that it is not being lazy, but being prepared. Better to be loaded right up than have to walk all the way back home if we need it I say. I just dont get enough free time to play each week to be making uneccessary trips back to base.
I can definately understand your point of view here, and why others felt thst way. However I just feel that the nerf was way too heavy handed. After all, now noone uses it and we openly mock it. I feel it needs to be balanced back upwards at least a little. I think 1 HP per second would be nice.
This weapon should have never existedā¦
it should work as a healing arrow, and healing those you strike with it, or only heal you if you hit somebody
Oh! Sorry, I didnāt realize that was the crux of your argument. I agree 100% with that. Hell, if it were possible, I would go beyond 100%
Seriously, they couldāve done any number of things with it, but they made it completely useless. Thatās one of the worst nerfs Iāve seen so far, if not the worst.
I never went for 4th vitality perk until they nerfed 3rd perk regen so hard that it disappointed me more than I disappoint my parents
@Alex did state the progression system in general is one area he would like to revisit. During his comments about 5th Enc perk i believe.
I think the middle ground between a server wipe and non wipe is adding decay to everything. Not too aggressive, but in general remove the ability to store massive amounts of loot. The game has no economy (another subject he mentioned) because once you get going, you can have stashes all over the place that allow for rebuilding 10x, making raiding all about wiping, and not about resource control.
edit:
Also, if they only reduce the amounts harvested, it will turn all new players away, as resource balance would tilt even more in favor of people who have farmed non stop.
