Nov 24, 2022. Myself + Level 18 T4 Thrall. Hunting down The Brute for fragment of power. Got jumped by a large scorpion. Very common in that area. Strange thing was no health bar on the scorpion. Realized I had no common scorpion when it would not die. Two attempts to tell thrall to return failed. Poison got my thrall, I soon followed. At no time did I see any health bar, so no idea even how close we were to killing it. I only knew I had fought a King Scorpion when I rezzed at my base, and was told what had killed me.
What ticks me off (and I’m cooled down now, a day later) is again, no idea what I was fighting. Had I seen this was a boss, I would have ran away and saved me the very LARGE number of hours leveling my thrall. Oh, the thrall had 2 pieces of epic armor, and a legendary weapon, all the above also lost. So going back to the question in the title. Was this working as intended, or did a game glitch lose me hours of game time spent leveling this thrall?
I play single player, and on this run, I killed two other boss animals (croc, red dragon) but they had health bars and I knew what I was facing. So why the change for this King Scorpion?
I think it is a glitch. The health bars have been doing weird things lately. Occasionally I will see a thrall one skull green health bar floating around in my base.
I have also fought mobs without health bars. Never died to one though, but a King Scorpion would do it. If you do not kill them quickly, they will stack poison to 10 and you will die.
I think they tweaked health bars because the usual whiners claimed they couldn’t play steath (as if stealh was a thing in CE), @JJDancer .
Now it’s a freaking pain to capture t4s. You have to be on top of them to see what the hell they are, when they don’t present differences in size. Health bars, even from thralls, often flicker between red and green. A quick run and dodge in any populated area was enough for you to see if there was any t4 and the risk of capture was worth it. Now, you put yourself in danger just to properly check who’s who.
A glitch that costs that much playing time makes me REALLY rethink going back to WOW. You always knew what you were fighting with the dragon symbol indicating an elite in WOW. And could tell that from a distance. And the skull in the center of the dragon meant don’t even try. And I will say one thing for Blizzard. They would not tolerate this type of glitch and would be doing a fast patch ASAP. Of course, the monthly fee Blizz charges was an incentive.
Since Exiles if sorta free, I guess you do get what you pay for and Funcom can fix this on their own time.
I do get your frustration but… “Blizzard would not tolerate this type of glitch” made me laugh. Takes a deep breath ahh yes entitlement is blowing in the air tonight.
If you apply poison/bleed/gouging or specter coating on enemies, their health bar will flash as the DoTs take hitpoints away.
It is not perfect, but a workaround to see what type of enemy you are fighting, and how many HP they have left.
I recently went into playing setting and clicked on the setting that allows you to actually see the health points seems to have lessened the invisible health bars. And happy Cake Day. @tvolm
I have the option to show the numeric values enabled and although bars eventually appear, the distance in which they do is way too short. There are cases when I almost need to bump the npc to see who it is… we used to have the option to always see health bars in the admin panel, client side. It’s gone, sadly.
That is what I was talking about you get up inside a big boss can’t see shit so I glance at my wife’s screen to see what is going on. Advantages of playing together .
The alternative fact is that a mob may have been invisible and sucker punched you. It’s still happening. Without health bars, there is no hint of it.
Count yourself lucky, because at least you could see the boss. Today I found out invisible fauna at Siptah. You only see the eyes and a little fur in some big fellows. I didn’t know what hit me, but it was low hp, because I managed to kill it fast. I honestly hope the Rockslide isn’t struck by the invisibility bug. I guess I’ll find out soon enough…
Its nice that this has been reported to Dev team. I’ll remember that as I spent 30+ hrs leveling my next named T4. After I find one of course.
@#$!#@$!#@$!@#$@$ There, I feel so much better! /sarcasm off.
Yesterday I was playing single player, I have internet issues! I was wondering in Siptah and I got one shoted by a corrupted crocodile that cannot one shot me, but it did! I didn’t have torch and it was night!
No battle music, no crocodile sounds and roars, just this shot!
In the past I have been killed numerous times this way, I know how it feels , it reminds me the creepers of minecraft, I you managed to stay alive long time, one creeper would appear in front of you to ruin your day .
The funny thing is that when I returned back to gain my loot the corrupted crock was gone, poof in thin air!!! It happened a lot in the past and it creates ghosts between you and the game!
I know the feeling!
Another time I was fighting a corrupted hyena and I took the fight because I hoped to harvest bestial memory potions…
When I killed it it became normal hyena… Lol!
This scorpion spawn is away from Brut! So if this scorpion attacked there, it’s surely a bug!
About the no hp bar bug on foes exists…
Which remains… You play on ps4, aren’t you?
