Repro steps:

  1. My PC is i7 8700K 16GB RAM 3200MHz GTX 1060 6GB and the game stutters very often
  2. I built a tower and from above the view is all bugged, there is a link to a video I made, showing the bug and bad performance.

Hmmm. I’ve experienced this exact issue in a few places and assumed it to be a game bug in general. I did not realize it is related to running Ultra settings, which by the way, I do and I also use a GTX 1060 6GB. I only experience it in two out of the way locations, but I’ve no current builds at altitude. I really hope it is not an issue specific to our cards.

Are you running a hard drive or ssd. It can make a big difference

In my case, it is a Samsung Evo SSD at roughly 60% full (if capacity is a crucial factor for SSDs). Also in my case, I am currently on my “gaming” laptop and only running at 1080P resolution with half his amount of RAM (8GB) and only an i7-6700HQ @ 2.6GHZ. It runs fairly smoothly at 45+ FPS on Ultra in my local game, but I leave the game running for long periods, sometimes three or four days at a time and have noticed occasional memory leak-like behavior (stuttering?) when I return and play after leaving it running with my guy idle and the camera doing the “Inactivity Spin”. And at those times, I can check the task manager and see the GPU repeatedly throttling then dropping.

Anyway, I am personally just giving some additional information in case it helps. I am pretty happy with my performance, considering my hardware and the way I run the game and can always switch to my desktop if I ever feel otherwise.

This. I was running on a HDD for a while because I didn’t have enough room on the SSD and the performance was TERRIBLE. I have a 6600k overclocked to 4.6Ghz and a GTX 1070FTW and the stuttering was pretty bad. Moved the install to my SSD (after making room) and its almost a night and day difference.

hdd. I’m considering reinstalling it on the m.2 ssd

I’m also playing at 1440p I will uninstall it and reinstall on SSD

I put all games on ssd now
with large games that constantly swap textures and models as you run across the map cause hard drive thrashing which can trash the fps even on a high end system.

games will only run as fast as the slowest part of your computer

My SSD is 525GB only, I only have pubg and now conan on that ssd

I know the feeling lol
I have a 512 with windows, ark, conan and a few apps,
60+ % full
