I’ve tested this with a hardened steel pickaxe, and a flawless hardened steel war axe. It costs 12 hardened steel and 2 shaped wood for the axe, and 10 hardened steel and 2 shaped wood for the hardened steel pickaxe… if I put either of these items on a blacksmith bench (not broken, just severely low durability, it will take 30-40 hardened steel and 10-15 shaped wood to repair them…
What the hell? I can only assume other hardened steel items have the same repair costs. Please fix this, it is stupid AF.
Steps on how to reproduce issue:
Craft a hardened steel pickaxe
use it until its durability is very low, or broken…
put the tool on a blacksmith bench
add hardened steel and shaped wood to the bench inventory
repair item
results:
it will take a s*** ton of resources to repair it…
note: i only tested this with small increments of hardened steel. So I would put 3 hardened steel and 2 shaped wood in at a time… each time it would maybe increase the durability by 100 or so points.
Repairs are more resource efficient if you put the exact amount needed (or excess) to repair to 100% rather than doing it in small increments.
I suggest you retest how many it needs to repair from broken with 50 of each resource in the workshop.
cost to create new:
12 hardened steel
2 shaped wood
since this axe was starting at 24% durability, i can only assume it would cost about 12 hardened steel, if not more to fully repair.
while this is a better result than doing it in small increments, it still seems a ludicrous repair price vs creating a new one. Especially since im using a t4 blacksmith.
