Bug Report SIpta Wildlife Spawn inside Base

Bug description:
I have build a base near Leishire of the Serpent. Had to select server setting that would allow building in normally none build areas. Also used Less building placing restriction mod to allow placing thralls there. For months everything was well. Recently i revisited that base and noticed wolfs spawning inside of the base. For some reason wildlife no longer checks if the area is land claimed before spawn. So far I only noticed this issue in the Leishire of the Serpent base location. Suspect that it being normally none build area have something to do with it.


Bug Reproduction:

Select server setting that allows building everywhere
Build some foundations at the wolf spawns locations close to the Leyshire of the Serpent. Watch wolfs spawning on top of foundations.

It’s no bug. Every purge has in-base and off-base spawns.

It has all to do with the purge trying to find a way to attack. If your buildings and bases block some of the given purge spawn spots, it would recalculate many times and then often ends up spawning inside your base.

It’s not a bug, just a mechanics which assures that you receive a purge. Try to look into your event log, I bet you will see there the purge starting and ending approx 3 minutes after, many times, without actually starting. That’s how you see the system is trying to get through, because the purge spawn spots are given and static, and the purge pathing can’t reach your base for some reason.

Same problems happen even on officials without any mods, but I think that the mod without the building restriction can make it all even more problematic.

OP didn’t say anything about being Purged.

I suspect it’s the mod, but not sure. BTW, I’m pretty sure they fixed it so you can place thralls inside no build zones as long as you selected the “build anywhere” option. You might wanna give it a try without the mod and see what happens. :wink:

To the topic, the no restriction mode I’ve used in SP in 2018 and I never experienced this. Also I’ve read something about the fact that on SP and private servers player can now allow all places to be overbuilt, or keep every of them restricted, so it should be possible without mods, like you say. Never tried though.

Clarifying that this issue is NOT happening during the purge. Just normal wolf spawns not being blocked.

I also used Less building placement restrictions mod for a while now with no issues both in Exiled Lands and Syptah and doubt that it’s what is causing the problem here. But i included this information just in case. Kind of wary about deactiving less building placements restrictions mod because i was building a lot of structures with it active and was getting “creative” with cool things that mod allows you to do (mostly overlaps that you couldn’t do in unmoded game).

I totally understand, more power to ya, but you can’t modify your game and then complain that it’s not working correctly.

If you set the landclaimradius to a very low value in the serversettings.ini file (which means, you can build really close to anything, that prevents building there normally), that is possible for things to spawn in your base. I had a coal node under my bed once! It grew through the foundation too.

My landclaimed radius setting is default. Doubled checked it in server settings ini file:
LandClaimRadiusMultiplier=1.000000 .

The above said I did notice something suspecious on server setting ini file:
CampsIgnoreLandclaim=True

Will backup game and try changing that to False. I guess with game backuped I can try duplicate the issue with no mods to confirm it’s happening in default game.

Ok much testing was done:

Tested with and without mods with different ini settings. Confirmed it’s not the mods.

It is however apparently CampsIgnoreLandclaim server setting. When set to “False” instead of “True” it prevents wolfs from spawning in my base. Hurray for that. On a slightly sad note it also appears to effect every single wolf spawn around Leishire of the Serpent where that base is located. Most of which are very far from landclaim area (I tested to make sure by reducing landclaimradius to only 0.2 multiplier). It appears that all of those wolfs belong to the same “camp” and either all of them spawn or none of them do. Funcom devs should probably look into that. There are like 15 different wolf spawn loations in that area across very wide radius. It seems weird to have all of them despawn just because two of them have their spawn blocked by buildings.
