I usually start with one camp against Noob River, and I cram whatever I can craft there while I’m starting out. Then I back this one down to just the bare essentials for crystal working (grinder, smelter, etc)
Move to another temp camp up near the Darfari capital, for harvesting easy thralls and working up more iron level stuff. This one gets dismantled as soon as I’m ready to move out.
Which is around level 30, and I head to Brimstone lake. So I can have massive levels of iron, brimstone, coal, for steel production. This one is a bigger camp since I need smelters, smiths, alchemists, etc.
Also was planning a small Silver camp near the Jawbone. A large camp out in the center of the map, another one out to the far east, and one up near some large black ice deposits for processing that.
With scattered small camps for thrall farming at certain places. I just recently had one of these up on a rise really close to Sepermeru. So I can run down in there, ■■■■■■ up a thrall, and drag him back out to break, before I transport him to another base.
So does anybody think they won? I’ve seen some pretty cool stuff from my friends, in fact I saw one last night that looked “wretched” in the best sense of the word. A scenic spa of sulfur and stone.
I don’t care about winning outright, to be honest. A paid server wouldn’t do me any good at all. I’d much rather get the runnerup prize for the Tier 2 DLC season pass.
I’d venture a guess that a lot of us, including myself, think they have a good chance. I haven’t seen too many people post screenshots of theirs, I guess we’re all afraid someone will steal our ideas . I posted a pic of my turan palace on Reddit a few months ago, two days later someone had already recreated it and posted it.
On another note, does anyone know what time the stream is on Thursday?
Hah. I rushed mine, because it was like the day before the Monster Hunter festival was going to start. So I wanted to get my entry in before I got busy with that.
mine is a hunter’s house on a waterfall (I forgot to send outdoor photos) with a wolf (stuffed) lying in front of the fireplace, while his puppy was walking around the house. And one of my friends has sent the house of the 3 bears of the tale.
For mine, I was going for a barbaric, yet refined look. Lots of fancy furniture and skulls.
I even did a whole outdoor area, with a Yog shrine and fancy fountain.
The Fanworks forum isn’t quite as busy as it may seem at first glance. There’s no risk of threads falling into oblivion. If anything, having more people posting their buildings into the section would breathe new life into the whole Fanworks forum, and if it turns out that Building threads overwhelm the forum, then request for a dedicated forum for building stuff.
I think we’re all winners. Having the opportunity to do something creative and sharing the experience is more valuable than any DLC we could get as a reward.
