The contest is now over. Here were the details of the contest. All submissions to the contest can be found on this forum post below. There is also a VOD available of Deaso and I discussing our thoughts on everybody’s submissions.
LBPR - Building Contest!
In celebration of the mod, Less Building Placement Restrictions (LBPR for short) hitting 200,000 downloads, we are hosting a building contest. Prizes, sponsored by Funcom, will be given out based on where the submission lands in the judging. Here are all the details.
Scheduling Information
- Contest was over 3.5 Weeks long and extended past the original deadline.
- Started, Friday at March 20th at 0800 CET, and ended on April 16th at 2359 CET

The link for that VOD can be found here.
General
- Three screenshots are allowed per user, either of the same building or structure, or of three different buildings.
- This is a mod based building contest. Any mod is allowed, though LBPR is required. For a list of mod suggestions, see below.
- Must be a new creation, not something previously built.
- Submissions can be posted here on the forums, or on our Discord found below.
- Deaso, Multigun, and Testerle will serve as judges for this contest.
- Judging will be based on the uniqueness of the submission.
What Uniqueness Means
- Players have free roam on what uniqueness means, the idea is to encourage players to push the boundaries where only something mods allow. Suggestions to help you get started include, but are very much not limited to:
- A replica of a real life or fictional structure.
- Build something that is inspired by a real life or fictional structure.
- Create something entirely unique and never-before-seen.
- Sharing your backstory and inspiration into the design is highly encouraged. If you based it on or were inspired by a real life/fictional structure, please share where your inspirations came from.
Restrictions and Other Rules on Submissions
- Submissions must be SFW
- While not required, it is encouraged to list what mods you used in your screenshot.
- Followers/Thespians are allowed in screenshots, but it must be centered around building as the main piece.
- Filters are allowed
- Photoshop or other photo editing software is not allowed.
- No photos taken from a mobile device.
Prizes
-
The top 5 submissions will be given a Conan Exiles Complete Edition key, which is provided by Funcom for this contest.
-
In addition, submitted screenshots will be placed into an ‘Extra Large Picture Frame’ in the LBPR - Additional Improvements Add-On mod.
-
The next top 10 submissions will have their screenshots added to the Extra Large Picture Frame.
Picture Frame Details
-
The Picture Frame, in the next update for LBPR AI, has a few cool unique features. See the below video for a demonstration (Picture frame shown is the Extra Large Variant).
-
The mod does (or will in the next update) have a smaller “main” Picture Frame that has screenshots submitted on our discord. However, the Extra Large variant will be exclusively reserved for Building Contest winners.

I guess I know what I’ll be doing during Easter.
I’ve never used LBPR or other building mods (mainly because I’m afraid that a game update might blow up my “illegal” buildings) so I’m not entirely sure what I can do with them that I couldn’t do without them. I do have some ideas I’d love to build in the game, so maybe it’s time to start doing some research.
Our community is so fantasically creative the “something entirely unique and never-before-seen” is setting a pretty high bar. But, as a wise man said, “you can’t win in art” because every creation is special in its own unique way, so we’re not really competing to “win” other competitors, but rather to create something cool and memorable. In that sense, we all can be winners.

Ya it’s just a suggestion to help get the idea wheels turning. We don’t want to restrict people to much on their building ideas, the mod itself is entirely based on the idea of allowing more freedom to build than you normally would have.
Deaso himself is an example of building based on things you are inspired by. The picture you see at the top was made by him, and he calls it the City of Estenwald. You can read about his inspiration on Reddit when he shared it.

We only just started it recently, but we have a building tips channel on our discord. Some of the ideas posted on there are things you can take advantage of with LBPR. J0hnbane (YouTuber who does Conan Exiles series) might also be another resource for you to look at. He’s been using LBPR since basically it’s first days.
Valid concern. Though, I can only think of one instance in 2 years where that was the case though. And that was when the anti-exploit for overlapping buildings was released last year. At the time I had several versions of LBPR, and one of them allowed full building overlapping. You can imagine what chaos occured from that patch because of it. Pythagoras Support Beams I also had to rebuild a lot of. Otherwise, the average mod with buildings in it was unaffected.
LBPR is just one main mod now thanks to hades/EZee_AP and the code for the full building laps exists as an admin settings in the LBPR admin panel, but players have to be careful if they decide to turn it on. Otherwise, I hand picked several overlap exceptions (that wouldn’t see the light of day on official servers) that allow some more building freedom, while keeping players protected from losing their stuff because of the anti-exploit code.

First submission on our discord is by the player Hallenor. User posted the following information and screenshots below.
Hello. My name is Hallenor. I love building in Conan Exiles. The LBPR mod allows for total freedom and letting my mind run free when trying to create new things.
My build was inspired by all of you. I regularly scroll through the screenshots tab on various discords to see if I can learn something from someone’s builds/creations.
The primary motivation for me to enter in this contest is because I have a player in my discord who saw an ad on the Funcom forums that I’m looking for an active admin for our server. When he contacted me, we had a little chat and it seemed to be a nice person. Unfortunately he missed the PC tag in the add. He plays on PS4 instead. He has a desktop PC, but doesn’t own Conan Exiles for PC. If I win this contest I will give this key to him (if that’s even possible ofc.)
The following mods were used to build this:
- LBPR
- Amunets Dungeon Assets
- The Age of Calamitous
- G-Cam Glass constructions & more
- G-Cam down to 60
- Pippi - User & Server management

Looks like my fears were not unfounded. After spending several hours playing with infinite stability support beams and getting a very nice “floating” structure underway, I went to sleep and returned the next day to find out that almost half of the structure had collapsed.
A pity, although the more I built the more strongly I suspected that it wouldn’t turn out as pretty as I wanted. Maybe it was a mercy killing.
So I went to build something completely different, and so far it has managed to survive whichever challenges gravity tries to throw in my way. It’ll be ready Soon™.
With Pythagoras? Or one of the others from various other mods? I’m unaware of any bugs with Pythagoras Support Beams, unless you turned on full building overlaps in LBPR. If you believe the bug was caused by Pythagoras Support Beams, please make sure it’s actually from that mod. My beams are very clearly labeled in both name and icon to indicate from what it’s from. If it is from Pythagoras, we should chat more of what bug you are seeing so I can look into it.

Yeah, I’m afraid I had full building overlaps on LBPR. The thing I was building wouldn’t have worked without it. I did read the warning regarding full overlaps, so the kaboom was my own fault. I was just kinda hoping that maybe it wouldn’t kaboom.
I may test this interaction further if you feel it’s useful.
No need. I can’t fix the issue if full building overlaps is on. My advise is to not use full build overlaps when using the Support Beams. Can turn it back on when doing other stuff. But ya, it’s definitely a use at your own risk. If I could shut off the anti exploit code for overlaps I would.

While this is something in my wheelhouse and I’ve always been a huge supporter of all things multigun - I doubt I’ll be able to submit anything. Bannerlord just went into EA, after all.
Good luck to everyone who submits and have fun with this game’s amazing building.

Another new submission, this one by Awkward Utensil.
A tower hewn of blackened ice risen out of the permafrost of Eyelet Lake. The souls in that place lend themselves to the various rituals taking place there, going so far as to include a viewing port in the tower’s floor to watch and pluck souls up from below. Those who gaze into its depths swear they see visions, past, present; or future. It is hard to say whether or not any truly do, or if the ever howling winds and popping ice fool the mind.
The build highlights not only what LBPR lets you build, but WHERE, and the stories that let’s us tell in doing so. It was pretty hard to pick only three angles.

And another new submission, this one by SweetiePy
Hi, my name is SweetiePy.
Normally I like to build small buildings and play with levels which is what LPBR allows. But for this contest I had to do something different. Rocktroll suggested a Mage Tower.
I hate heights and so don’t build high. This would be a test, a real test. I didn’t gell to the idea… and then I started building it. A glimer of an idea… loads of build problems, it became a personal challenge.
I hope you like what you see. I’m sad we could only submit three screenshots and this made the decision really difficult. This Mage Tower is fully operational. Every Eldritch table and every Alter are equipped with the best thralls available.

Here is my submission: Heimgard Fortress
My inspiration for this build is from Rohan fortesses from Tolkiens world in addition to Norse Mythology and viking history.
Whats unique with this build is that its the first I have completed in this game. I always run into trouble with building, but this time I have overcome those problems with the help of mods like LBPR and Pickup+. So thanks to all modders for making this game greater!
