So i got a base location to where the ONLY way to it is from a walkway i built. I but up t3 black ice doors to block the path thinkin if they try to blow the door the cieling tiles will go and they will fall to their death. My question is if i use sandstone ceiling tiles to make the floor even weaker, will the decay rate differ for the sandstone pieces. the walkway is really the only defense from gettin to the base which i an going to post archers and stuff there behind the doors. Also with the archers, should i equip explosive arrows to further this walkway destruction cause?
not entirely sure… but NPC’s cannot damage their own structures… and I believe that decay time is based off of the size of the entire structure
Changing the kind of building materials could change the timer but if you have it connected to a decent size tier 3 base you probably don’t need to worry. Make a repair hammer and check the time. As far as the explosive arrows I don’t know. Test it and see. Here’s a video about decay if you want more info about it.
On PVP servers they can - i’ve had things in my base destroyed by own archers at times when they’re firing at an enemy. Weaker things like placeable statues etc, but it proves they can do damage.
Im gonna hop on to single player and do a scenario to test this before i waste stuff
I am quite sure that your own archers can damage your structures on PVE-Servers as well.
I had archers miss their targets and hit the crenellations they (the archers) stood behind, and I had to repair those crenellations. And that is on a private server with damage to player buildings turned off…
