Issue:
Burning Siege Cauldron looks great and functionally operates correctly. However, the fire spray and field that is created does nothing. Not sure if this is a stretch to test as there a few items not mentioned in the patch notes that were added and look in progress that don’t work (poise armor mods or new eyes craftable at the orb of nergal for example)
Steps to replicate:
Build a crenelated wall, slap a burning siege cauldron on top
Add tar, wait for some dumb idiot to stand under it
Pull the lever and watch the fire spray field do nothing to enemies at the gates.
And if you think I just missed, then look closely you can still see the object circles which should indicate its area of effect.
also i would like to add that these things are and always have been useless in pvp, it is extremely easy to avoid and most likely helps to annoy more the defenders than the attackers.
but i actually like the concept, it would be nice if they remove the friendly fire effect, i know that is not “realistic” that you aren’t hit by fire, but seeing how currently raiding works you have plenty of attack methods and few defense methods, it is really hard to defend currently, even more with the removal of god bubble.
so i would like to suggest an overhaul in the raiding system, maybe remove explosive arrows and just use orbs, or casted spells to attack, there are plenty of ways to make raiding great again so we can have this fantasy of castle defense that i would love to see, and i think that this was always the intention but for A or B reason it was not really possible to pull it off.
