Can not call the purge untill I leave all the doors to the base opened

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Online Private
Server Type: PvE
Map: Isle of Siptah
Server Name: 4Netplayers Conan Exiles Server
Mods: =MODS=

Bug Description:

When i try to summon a purge I get the " there is no reachable location for the purge to setup their basecamp" notification. I can call the purge by leaving all doors/gates opened, but the moment i close any single one of them the purge ends. It happens on every base/castle on the server (and one have literally only two doors). Purge worked fine with those bases before chapter 4th update.

Bug Reproduction:

Simply calling the purge.

and bent myself over i guess :joy:

Try making sure all doors open in the same direction. For some reason that matters

I’ll try that out - thank You
edit: It does not work :frowning:

This has been a headache for a while. Something I’ve noticed fiddling with this issue is they seem to want a landing of some kind before the door. Stairs leading right up to the door stop the purge, but if you have a foundation or something in front of the door and then stairs, they seem to like that better.

So for example they don’t like this:
Floor, Floor, Floor.
Wall, Door, Wall.
Stair, Stair, Stair.

But this seems to work more often:
Floor, Floor, Floor.
Wall, Door, Wall.
Floor, Floor, Floor.
Stair, Stair, Stair.

No guarantees of course, but since I don’t know exactly how you have things arranged, just thought I’d mention it.

have you made sure that there is at least 1 foundation space around your coffer?

Greetings Exile,

Thank you for your report. Can you confirm the server has no mods installed?

Also, could you record a short video showcasing the issue since positioning the doors and gates, until failing the purge?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it solved the problem - I’ll test it a little bit more.

Thank You so much

I confirm I have no mods installed (uninstalled them after Chapter IV update due to bugs). I’ll catch some footage later on, as I keep testing the issue.

Here is an example of a base that just had it’s 2nd purge, being ruled that there is no location in the empty desert. Literally nothing changed between the purges. Call again, no problem. It’s a continuous issue. The workaround is to call purges until they spawn.

I’ve decided not to record any video, cuz it is not nessesary.
Solved the issue by placing additional line of foundations before the gate (prior to that it was directly connected to the stairs).

The door orientation fix also makes some sense. Afer adding the foundations the purge was not allways startig properly . But when I’ve dismantled the doorway (the gate frame) that was directed in the other way than the other, it works every time.

Thank You guys for the fixes - those new purges sure are fun!

I hope teh devs would fix the issue sometime in the future

i have the same issue here. in chapter 3 i was able to start purges without problems. but since the new update i can not longer start a purges. if you can please make a video explaning. thank you.

This is what fixeed the problem in my game. I’ve placed extra foundations to the gateway so it was not connected directly to thee stairs.

Also make sure your door/gate frames are facing the same direction

yeah now i can, sorry to bother you on that one, i just realized. thank you!

This is not a solution to your problem, just a suggestion to perhaps try:

IMHO your purge defense should not rely on doors. They are literally destroyed in a hit or two by demolishers, and if demolishers are actually making it to your doors then you have a problem. Not to mention that an overuse of doors can prevent or confuse purge pathing/spawning.

I have one main door to my purge “kill zone”, and one door to my treasure room. I open both before starting a purge and I rarely have purge fails to spawn/fail to find path. They are mainly there to seal the base off when I am not using it so people don’t try to kill my thralls with exploits, kite bosses to them, etc.

No problem - I hope it helps
