I’d like to point out that not every warrior and soldier wore armor head to toe 100% of the time. While serving in the Army, it made no sense to wear armor 100% of the time. We would train with it, and for combat missions we would wear it.
But to be fair, I don’t exactly see many standing armies in the Exiled Lands. In Siptah, you have a Stygian Contingent led by a prince, and if you do one of the events, you’ll see living members of the Silent Legion.
But as exiles, we’re not soldiers. Our characters MIGHT have been soldiers at some point. And we do have options such as the various armors available that are realistic and would be functional. But just as many if not more characters are going to be ‘civilians’.
For many characters I’ve seen, there has been thieves, pirates, bartenders, farmers, hunters, and various other fields where wearing armor isn’t exactly something they do. Most characters are simply trying to survive.
This idea that every character played by a player in the exiled lands is a hardened veteran soldier who should be armored head to toe like they’re about to enter a Zingaran Joust is flawed. Many are barely trying to survive. Some may have comfortable settlements they dwell in and have no need of armor to deal with the various wildlife in the land.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve never had to don my IBAS with SAPI plates and ACH helmet to deal with bears, mountain lions, and wolves that inhabit the woods where I live. Granted I don’t have demons and such (well the skunkape and chupacabra aren’t THAT bad 
), but normal forays don’t require all that either.
Besides, there’s been times where Conan has dealt with just threats without armor, and in at least one case his bare hands by strangling one to death.
Yeah it makes sense in a scenario where dozens of players are on each side are attacking in a siege to be fully armored up and suited for battle. Or in some sort of purge scenario.
But if you’re going around collecting plant fiber or just hanging out at the tavern in sepermeru, it makes sense to dress the part. Trust me, the guys I’ve seen in the Army being forced to wear full armor on extra duty and mow grass and use weedwackers were not having a great time. Suffice to say, you aren’t putting on full plate armor to go pick some berries.

This is indicative of a bigger issue the game presents. There’s no real reason or need to switch out of your gear when at your base or doing farming. Most players will have a one-kit fits all mentality. And just as you wouldn’t wear full armor to pick berries, you also wouldn’t go headfirst into battle without full armor.

The point is that there’s a lot of full, more realistic armor options thus far. If you don’t like them, don’t buy them. This meant for those that want that stuff. Having the option doesn’t mean you lose out on the other stuff. Conan Exiles likely won’t become a Korean RPG overnight.

That’s kind of an individual choice though. Not something you see commonly on roleplay servers where the look of a character matters for what they are trying to achieve than the stats. But even outside RP servers, I’ve seen players swap out how they look based on their actions and mood.
I would point out that even the revealing armor that is being asked for would still fit the Hyborian setting, and not have gravity defying clothing that is there to be somehow lewder then full nude.

I remember the fashion contest, both my wife and daughter made an observation. Boots higher than knee are missing, mini skirts (guardian heavy) need higher boots and they have a point. Ofcurce, this is totally out of lore, but lots of women play this damn game and they need higher boots 
.

Myself, I think a little cloths is more sexy than full nude. Like, hello, peekaboo. That’s fun to me. Call me perv or whatever but I like catching glimpses down my crafter’s tops. Being able to outfit the crafters would be welcome in my opinion too.

I can actually see this easy to get together as there are commonalities to them. For thighs you can have garter vs pant vs skin. For calf/foot you can have boot vs garter and small shoe, vs small shoe. Etc etc etc. The details of what the actual design is within these components can be hashed out but the basics are there and so it won’t break the bank on memory.

Funcom artists make everything unique with most items having different textures, so I don’t have a lot of faith in that idea of reusing assets and allowing for less drain on memory. I’ve noticed many of the wood grain textures are different… like, it’s cool, but not necessary at all.

While this one is in general fairly ambivalent about lingerie and banana hammocks…
We definitely could benefit from more garment choices. Especially some of the images shown from the two movies.
As for decorative armour, in addition to movie Valerie’s Valkyr outfit and Queen Taramis giving us best bird, perhaps Red Sonja’s Scale-kini?
A medium armour version may look like her more developed gear from some comics, but this isn’t the thread for those.
Especially as we are in the Age of Sorcery, now is probably the best time if they wanted to introduce Evil Sorceress Undies into the game.

Nothing wrong with enjoying a fantasy in creative media, its the whole point it exists. Some enjoy landscapes, the thrill of exploration, the thrill of battle in a controlled fantastical environment, others may simply enjoy the human form.
Fantasy inspires creativity. Especially when you create more media of your own rather than wasting it on simple self gratification.
