Cannot connect to any server ping/auth errors

Game mode: [Enter game mode here: Online official ]
Type of issue: [Enter one of the following: Misc]
Server type: [Enter one of the following: PvP ]
Region: [America]

I cannot log-in to any servers. I have played over 280 hours. I stopped playing for about 2 months and ended the subscription on my private server. When I come back to rejoin an official server after 2 months of not playing I cannot log on. I am receiving “ping too high” error on first attempt and “authentication failed” on any other attempts to join servers from the list or join from IP have the same results. I am unsure to what the issue is. I have uninstalled through steam as well as by deleting the file from program files. I even moved it from my backup hard drive I keep games on to my main solid state drive and still the same issue. Using a VPN doesn’t help either. Ping is 10ms according to online tests.

I am not sure if this is a ban but I never cheated or used any mods other than those available in the workshop (I have since removed them all and still having the same issue). I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling battleye and still getting these errors. Frustrating to say the least so any tips would be appreciated.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
1.Log on
2.Select PVP server (also happens on PVE, PVE-C)
3.Try to connect to any official or private server
4.Get “ping error” on first attempt to connect
5. Authentication error on any additional connect attempts.

Hey @kaliflow3r

Welcome to our community and apologies for the frustration.
Could you let us know your region and ISP to see if there could be an issue with that?
Also, could you share your latest log when you attempted to unsuccessfully join a server? (they can be found in ConanSandbow/Saved/Logs)
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ignasis,

Thanks for responding!

I am in Americas-East Coast -NYC. My service provider is Optimum. Now that I think about it could be an ISP issue as previously I had Verizon Fios (fiber) but recently moved and the only provider in my area is Optimum (cable). This is my first time trying to log on since the switch.

I couldn’t upload the log file as its only letting me upload images (or paste it cause it was too long) . But here is a wetransfer of the file. https://we.tl/t-98POE1VJJO (added [DOT] and the spaces cause im not allowed to post links). I can also DM it if that works better. Let me know! Appreciate the help!

Do you have any firewall in your computer or router? Since you mention changing ISP recently, did they provide their own router?
Judging by the logs, it seems there might be some firewall rules interfering with your connection when trying to reach our servers.

I have windows firewall and webroot but both are set to allow conan files and I did not have previous issues with them. I do have a router from my new ISP. Would I have to call them to change firewall permissions or is that something self-service I can do? Just trying to figure out what next steps to take with it.

Hi just an update. I checked my router and added port forwarding for steam client and conan but still encountering same error. Let me know if I need to contact Optimum about this issue as I am at a loss.

Thanks!

If using a VPN didn’t help, we’d recommend at least trying to ask them if there’s any set restriction that does prevent reaching our servers in any way.

OK so I got a better VPN service and it works! I can log on, which is great but now I have to pay 11.99 a month just to play the game. It is probably something with ISP so I will contact them. Thanks for the help here.
