The majority of them cannot be hired, typically those with weapons will not give a prompt to be hired.

That’s a feature. Because…
Being able to hire more thralls would be too much fun.

Well thats just kinda goofy then. Let’s lag servers with a bunch of unnecessary thralls like it wasnt bad enough before lol. Also i didn’t see weapons on that named dancer but maybe they were hidden. Also didnt i hear they were suppose to have bar fights? Havent seen that happen yet either

Whole outfits actually. Hireable thralls will likely be wearing course rags like if you pulled them off the wheel. I got a prowler like this, and any named or faction thralls I’ve seen have never had their normal attire on.

Yes, but this does not apply to dancers, they can be fully equipped in their outfits. I’ve already hired three of them.

That’s likely because dancers usually don’t change when converted. It seems they’re shown as they are in their post-converted state. I imagine Asura thralls and bearers (or any unique thralls that don’t change to course rags) would be the same.

Yes, that’s logical.

Yea its cute at first until u realize u cant hire anything but crap and then it just becomes a decorative piece as the only real value is hiring sellsword to buy purge stuff. However, purge value is short lived so there ya go.

I hope that this idea will be developed, and hiring workers and warriors will be an important source of thralls.
Realistically, you cannot capture an enemy and torture him into becoming a loyal warrior. Such a broken person will always hate his master and try to escape. Therefore, I always considered two options for the game: either with the wheel of pain and thrall escape, or with hiring thralls and disabling escapes.
In my game, I always turned off the escape setting, and put 500 gold coins in the inventory of all placables thralls monthly (250 for unnamed thralls). It’s interesting that my price for named thralls coincided with the price set by the developers.

The capture is stimulating, in terms of gaming, but we have sorcery and religion to satisfy our predatory hunting instincts.
Perhaps funcom could develop the levelling process for thralls, making it more interactive, complex, stimulating and integrated with the rest of the game, and focus less on the capture process.

Sometimes you can meet an enemy, defeat him - and then, showing respect, offer work for yourself. Why not?
Therefore, I would leave the combat and knockout, and replace the wheel of pain with an interactive window with the conditions of employment.
PS In old fairy tales, sometimes you can find a situation where two enemies agree: let’s fight each other, if you defeat me, I will serve you, if I defeat you, you will serve me. A completely natural course of things.

Sure, but usually we have to decimate his friends first… but it is as plausible as what we have now. :grinning:

Not always. Usually you treat everyone indiscriminately with the same truncheon, and then you figure out who goes where)) (If the truncheon is strong, but the enemies are not very strong, of course).

I don’t. I do it the old fashioned way. Can’t be bothered to use other tactics.

In fact, there is another way to get a thrall - buy it.
Currently, only low-level thralls can be purchased in the game.
But in the Age of Calamitous mod you can buy very strong warriors, almost the strongest. Commodity-money relations are well developed there, and they have their own convertible currency. But in battle it is almost impossible to knock out warriors; you need to bludgeon a strong warrior for about 5 minutes, while they very rarely appear, and then only in the company of a dozen hefty soldiers.

We’re having a somewhat related discussion here, @Teng

Maybe you want to chime in.

I’m all for quick thrall leveling.
Once upon a time, the forest south of the Frost Temple was swarming with terrible animals, from behind every tree sabertooths or wolves would jump at you, or mammoths would run at you. There, thralls from level 15 leveled up to 20 in a matter of minutes.
Then the forest was made much safer, and I found a way to speed up leveling 10 times by moving the corresponding slider in the server settings. I wish the same for everyone.

I leveled many thralls via the raid castle, couldnt resist. I even leveled my cat to 20.
