I’ve had 2 named thralls spawn in my Tavern on the same day (yes that’s right!). But, both of those named thralls were not able to be hired. I understand the odds and how hiring works, but can I say that it is very frustrating to have so many level 1 thralls available for hire, only to have 2 named thralls wander in and not have the option to hire???
That’s like dangling a bone in front of a starving dog, and then not giving it to the poor thing.
I say keep the spawn rates for named thralls, but change the hiring so that a named thrall is hireable every time it spawns. Otherwise what’s the point?
Let’s not forget a person with a name in the exiled lands represents someone who is extremely accomplished in their own right. Some nameless Hyrakanian archer is probably more desperate for coin and will take an offer of employment far quicker than a famous thief and archer like Subotai who’s been hired by Kings
This brings up the awkwardness that is anonymous tier 4s.
Most of whom are better than many named tier 4s of weaker factions.
Cimmerian Berserker is a top tier combatant. Nameless, but still one of the best.
Treasure seeker are also tier 4 anonymous.
Then there are two flavors of Captain.
I usually solve that problem by naming them myself but I see your point Brythunian. I wonder what kind of explanation the devs would have to explain that. When a cimmerian joins the ranks of berzerkers they just give up their identity perhaps?
I like spotting named NPCs in my bars, especially when I recognize them as people who don’t normally exist on the Isle of Siptah.
Now, it would be nice if they were hireable at least every now and then, but it’s always the [nameless fighter II] or [nameless dancer I] who would take my coin. I have many moneys I could give you famous people!
Then again, looking at what Isscar the Sellsword sells, and for what prices, I guess a gold coin isn’t worth very much in the economy of the Exiles. Now that I think of it, maybe it’s an in-game representation of the Black Lotus Bazaar - the stuff you’d like to buy isn’t available, and the stuff that is available costs too much.
As soon as Spinas visited my pub i served him the best i had and sit down to chat about old stories we did together.
Hiring thralls is one of the mechanics of this tavern system and tbh…
These thralls above would be killed on sight on their camps from me. But i hired them even so! They visited my tavern looking for a job, gently! So exile to exile i gave them gold to drink beers, fed them…
It’s purely rng!
Then in times the combination of how much time you spend daily with rng.
Plus i don’t play on a session. I play on multiple sessions in times so it’s easier to see almost everything this game provides years now.
But if you play in only one session, then it’s so freaking difficult, so freaking difficult to see everything.
Nobody ever confirmed that and everyone who see in the dev kit says that there not this kind of engine in the game. Yet my experience says the exact opposite. I remember in the server i met Zeb she couldn’t fix rock noses from silver or gold. No matter the efforts she couldn’t get one. But she had literally over 95% of all the rare items this game had so i fixed them for her. After a percentage of rate items it’s best to start trades if you wish to have everything in this game… rng sucks in times, lol.
@Pixelcave already said it to his outstanding guide.
It’s only 2% to have a named one. So make sure you fix a good tavern in terms of space, place benches and chairs more than the npcs that’s spawning. If you enter your tavern amd all tour seats are occupied, you need to place more. Don’t forget that your tavern system works vertical too. So you can fix a floor and still have visitors up there.
What i did is this…
Restaurant…
If you have a pub , it means you can fend off a tier 1 purge …and therefore gold is not such a problem.
I have found it quite useful to occasionally buy up low tier thralls (tier 1 costs 10g which doesn’t ruin anyone) to speed up the “rotation” in the pub …then some t4 shows up here and there , sometimes from purges
Well, I just got my first named recruits from my tavern: Sadeh the Lithe (hired, she’s now dancing on a table in the tavern) and Amurath the Swift (didn’t hire because I already have him - he shouldn’t have left his guard post to go boozing like that!).
Always buy the thralls. The only way to rotate the three you can buy is to get rid of the ones in the bars already. My event log is a bloodbath. Level one unattractive? Gone. Dude with a bald mullet, AKA the “Simon”? Gone.
I reduced our bars to two locations, just so I didn’t have to run back and forth to see who was available.
Having said that, here are the named thralls I’ve gotten in the bar. EDIT - PURCHASED
Lianeele
Syra Brennerhet (Twice)
Dalinsia
Cimmerian Berserker
Spinas
Relic Hunter Treasure Seeker
Mei the Blade
Ghuriel the Wicked
Iekika the Visionary
Lian
Amazing!!! I should fix a session with thralls only from purge cages and tavern system!
Maybe i will start a character on Siptah, it’s been awhile since a played a full session in Siptah.
It has the cages that will grand me my first fighters for purge, or named bearers.
Thanks for the idea @speedice you are amazing man, thanks a lot!
