I’ve been trying to farm the bigger underwater Brimstone Nodes in the far east jungle in a official LATAM Server (2209 PVP to be more specific) close to Buccaneer Bay, and I’m not sure if the bigger nodes are abble to be mined. I would send clip of me trying to mine it but the Forums wont allow for clips, so I’ll just send a imagem of me hitting the node and not getting anything. And before anyone ask yes I know about the smaller Brimstone rocks around these nodes and that they are only abble to be grabbed by hand and not with tools since a few uptades ago.
I’ve never been able to mine them, just dive and gather.

Pretty sure they changed this a while back so the little brimstone rocks cannot be mined anymore, you have to collect them by hand. I heard they’re reverting this change for crystal but I’m not sure if they’re changing it for brimstone too.

I had the same problem on the official server (Latin America): 2975.
I went to the Jungle and dove in search of sulfur, but I tried to use the pickaxe to mine it. I thought it was a bug.
I’m going to try to collect this sulfur again with my hands, as instructed.
But I would like to know if this is a bug or if it is intentional.
I will post here later about a similar bug that has been occurring around the Noobs’ River (where I have a small camp), in the South. Every now and then it is not possible to mine anything in the region: stone, wood, crystal, nothing. The character and the tools pass through stones and trees, as if the colliders for these objects did not exist. Yesterday something similar happened with the crystals in Hanumam’s Cave, however, the character and the tools did not pass through the crystals and, perhaps, as mentioned here, it is no longer possible to farm this resource with tools and only with your hands. But I insist on the question: is this with the crystals a bug or intentional?
Regarding the stone and wood farm, I believe it is a bug, since it only occurs sporadically.
Anyway, if anyone has more details about these issues, I would love to understand them better.

This bug happens to me sometimes also, the best way I found to “fix it” is to hit another rock or tree nearby, see if it is harvesting, if it is, finish harvesting and go back to the tree or rock that was giving you trouble.

Unfortunately, I have to go quite a distance to find a place where I can gather resources. Yesterday was the worst day; I had to cross the river. But when I came back, things still hadn’t improved in that area. But that was a one-off incident; usually I move back to the riverbank and things go back to normal.
But anyway, thanks for the tip.

Sorry been playing for years so I didn’t even consider the brimstone vents themselves as ‘nodes’. Only brimstone at those locations are the little rocks around the vents, the vents themselves have never been able to be mined, they’re entirely cosmetic.

I had the same problem. It only lets you pick them up for a whole 4 brim I think. You used to be able to hit them with the pick and mine them proper.
@Ceronesthes not the vents. The little brim pebbles can only be picked up but you used to be able to mine the larger nodes just like in Sinners Refuge and Executioners. Actually you could even hit the pebbles but they were 1 tap and done. The same goes for stone too. You can’t mine the mid size nodes with a pick anymore.
