Can't play anymore due to crash

So, every game works fine. I have cleared cache, reinstalled game and drivers, did everything people are recommending. So, my problem is, when the splash screen goes away and is about to enter the game i get this.

no mods… can’t get it to work. Anyone know how to fix this? Ark and Dune run and they are on the same engine… yesterday it worked fine as well.

I am using a 5090 Rtx

There was a hotfix today, maybe that changed things for you. Here’s what the AI says:

A “GPU Crash Dump Triggered” error in Conan Exiles on an RTX 5090 is usually caused by PCIe Gen 5 compatibility conflicts, driver instability, or high-end transient power spikes.

Hardware and BIOS Fixes

  • Change PCIe Slot Speed: Enter your motherboard BIOS and manually force the PCIe slot configuration for your graphics card from Gen 5 to Gen 4. RTX 50-series cards can experience synchronization failures on certain motherboard auto-settings.
  • Check Power Rails: High transient power draws on an RTX 5090 can trip multi-rail power supply safety limits; ensure your PSU is properly balanced or utilizing a robust single-rail configuration.

Software Adjustments

  • Clean Driver Install: Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in safe mode to completely wipe existing graphic files, then reinstall a stable NVIDIA driver version.
  • Disable Hardware Scheduling: Turn off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (HAGS) inside Windows graphics settings.
  • Verify Game Files: Right-click Conan Exiles in Steam, go to properties, and choose options to verify the integrity of the local game files.

Hope any of that helps.

I have the same problem or at least I experience the same crash dump. My GPU is a 3090. I have no intention of fiddling with sensitive hardware settings that I do not understand to try and make this game work. This is Funcom’s problem, not mine. I am fully capable of runnining WoW, FFXIV, Guild Wars II and a host of other games. My problem with this game has been getting worse and worse, to the point where I am about ready to throw in the towel and go back to some of those other games. This is just not worth the hassle.

Well, I pulled the 5090 out and ran it on the 5080 and it runs on the 5080 just fine. But, every game ran on the 5090 just fine… sooooo, I am lost in the sauce as to why it is doing this. I am getting a new power supply and will see if that helps, maybe it is a spike…

Sounds like, for whatever reason, Conan Exiles is not compatible with nVidea cards ending in 90. My Brother’s computer is nearly identical to mine except he has a 3080 GPU. He has no trouble with this game. This is NOT the fault of our cards. Other games run well on them. This is Funcom’s fault.

yea, it doesn’t won’t to work with the 5090 any form… but If I take it out and put the 5080 back in it works fine… all my games work with the 5090 just fine execpt this one

Thank you very much for testing this. I know of very few people who have access to both cards (IMMENSELY expensive) so this was an amazing opportunity to get to the bottom of the issue quite quickly! We now know that this is strictly a 90 GPU issue. For those of us who are unable to change out our GPUs, we will either have to wait for a fix or move on to other games.

I seem to remember a similar issue at launch of Enhanced. NVidia released a driver update then, expect something similar. That logo in the beginning isn’t there for show only. May take a hot minute, though.

I just hope that they don’t forget that this is affecting ALL of their 90 cards.

Leapfrog, I’ve been thinking a bit more about this. If you are indeed successfully playing other games that use the UE5 engine, then this isn’t a nVidea problem or even a UE5 problem. This is a Conan Exiles problem. Can you confirm that you are successfully playing these other games?

Just a feedback from another 3090 owner.
I had crashes at the closed beta, but since the release of the game not a single one.
HW: EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra, AMD 9950X3D, Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021
Resolution 3440x1440, not everything on ultra (otherwise the card is getting too hot).
This way I can play for hours, half a day is no problem.

On the other side, a friend of mine is using a 5080 and she had a lot of crashes. The game crashed randomly after playing some minutes. We tried almost everything and almost gave up. Finally we decided to try it without Battleye and this solved the problem entirely.

Another Friend is using a AMD 7080 XT card and he can’t launch the game. It crashes after seconds. Also here we tried everything from BIOS updates, driver updates etc… but no chance. Other games are running well on his machine, thats very strange.

Unfortunately the crash message is very generic and its hard to find out what the cause is.

Thanks for that Information. Every little bit helps here. Unfortunately for some of us, the Battleye problem seems to be a separate issue in that even with it disabled (and yes, when it is enabled it will even blue-screen-of-death my computer) we still experience the game crashing.

yea, I can play all my other games with the 5090 just fine. Conan won’t even load with it. I have the 5090 removed atm and just using the 5080 to play Conan. Ark runs, RE9 runs, Anno 117 runs, and many more run just fine. I will be replacing the board soon to see if that works but I don’t have my hopes up.
