I know this may have already been asked but when can we see this feature returned?
For folks who want transfers, I hope you get satisfaction.
I will never allow transfers on my servers again.
Because this is how server transfers worked, enough of the time to break the game.
- Person A starts private game
- Person A admin levels themselves to 60
- Person A admin spawns their favorite thralls, resources, and equipment
- Person A transfer to Server
- Person B invited them to clan
- Person A unloads all material
- Person A Deletes character
- Lather, rinse repeat.
That’s a private server issue. Keep transfers off on your servers but again. When can official expect to see transfer reenabled considering we cannot spawn anything and have to actually obtain the items we want.
Except, it’s not.
The same thing happened on Public servers.
That sounds like an exploit. There was supposed to be a strict hierarchy of transfers, so the following transfers were supposed to be impossible:
- private to official
- official PVE to official PVE-C
- official PVE to official PVP
- official PVE-C to official PVP
PvP players were also jumping back an forth. This should never have been able to occur. I’ve mentioned it before, but PvP should never be allowed to transfer to anything but one time transfers to PvE should they ever bring back transfers. They shouldn’t be able to jump between any other PvP servers, nor back and forth to anything. Once they’ve transferred to a PvE server—which is the only option—they can never go back. That’s the way it should have been done to avoid any exploits in the first place.
Simple answer: Never again on officials.
But in solo / private servers /solo. No problem because it’s still available.
Simple answer: not on pvp, unless going to pve permanently.
We don’t need that negativity. The argument is always about pvp and blah blah blah, not fair! Well boo hoo, you know what? It’s not just about PvP and we on PvE actually want to be able transfer of our own accord as much as we desire. Until I can get EVERYTHING I want on both maps, I’m still gonna champion the idea that transfers need to return. Do you have access to eldarium and eldarium recipes? Because I don’t. Do you have access to the khari waterskin on siptah (the best skin in game)? Because I don’t. Do you have the ability to get the unique dogs on EL? Because I don’t. The list goes on…
I hate to say this, but in being able to do that will cause serious repercussions in the form of a lot of nerfing and rebalancing to a point where going from one map to the other even in PVE will only result in a change of scenery.
Is that what you really want?
I know of the unique dogs you speak of.
What good is eldarium if it’s been nerfed to a point that it is no better than starmetal?
What good is unique armors if they’ve been downgraded to the equivalent of epics in the Exiled Lands even when fabricated by a T4 named specialist thrall? This would be just as true with epic and unique weapons.
This is just the tip of the iceburg.
This would be a forced consequence across all servers and include private servers as well as affect solo play. Nobody would be immune to it, regardless of your playstyle or preferences.
I am aware of the loopholes with how to get named thralls and pets to the exiled lands.
You do realize that some of us just like the cosmetic aspects of recipes and items, right? It’s not just about having the next best thing. When I build a base or populate it with followers, I’d like to have the full spectrum of items in the game I paid for… or are you only thinking about the meta element of it all? That’s a very close-minded ideology.
I understand the desire for cosmetics. I’m not very different regarding that aspect.
As for building bases and populating them all with thralls…
I’ve lost that desire to do so ever again. I’ve done it over and over so many times that I have lost count. To me, it’s wasted time and wasted space anymore.
Then certainly you can see that having the ability to access these items isn’t just about “nerfs” and what’s meta? Many of us on PvE don’t care about that. Most of the complaints about meta come from the PvP community. There’s no need to “balance” when there’s no one complaining… especially if they don’t allow PvP to PvP transfers.
You’re looking at it from a tired old perspective that just because you don’t care or want it, then certainly that must be true for everyone. Were that true, you wouldn’t see the request for it to return popping up all the time.
It’s not about the meta to me. (I never followed that crap anyway).
But still ,enabling those transfers again will have serious repercussions that will affect your game play.
Every time there has been big changes, I’ve also been forced to make adjustments to my server which happens to be an experimental version of a combination of PVE and PVP.
(Edited to move last comment)
Yeah, no… gold and silver were the only issues, but now it’s extremely prevalent in drops with the new purge system. Weapons have been rebalanced for legendaries in mind, so even the crafted items aren’t as good as they were. So what’s the issue? Is there some archaic reason behind your response?
But I must agree with you regarding one aspect.
I grow weary of this constant change just to appease people who want, want, want.
Call that “archaic” all you wish. It doesn’t mean crap to me anymore.
The only reason I don’t see transfers being mentioned by Funcom is that they can’t figure out a way to do it reliably when they kept losing our characters. And for whatever reason, they wanna keep stuff locked behind a map that fewer and fewer people even wanna play on… there’s no meta reason behind it at all.
I do sympathize about the lose of your characters.
I’ve had a share of my losses too.
Every time we create a character, some of us… adds something of ourselves into it.
When we lose them, we lose a part of ourselves.
I only say “archaic” because your reasoning seems based upon old statistics rather current. If Funcom insists on not updating siptah anymore, they need to allow transfers to refresh interest in the map, or bring over the content. Even seeing gray ones, the pools, and surges would be nice.
I think the way the maps could have been interconnected (considering how much space each takes up ) would be through a cluster configuration which would make travel between maps possible and more convenient. Some privately owned servers already use that configuration and do something similar to that.
FC should have given that consideration before going to the extremes that they did.
Agreed
