that dudes been hacking for a long time, he’s probably reading this and laughing. unless they go on another hacking spree on the pve servers like br did nothing will ever get done. a new account is $5 and they all have multiple accounts ready to go.

You’re right — but unless we raise this here on Funcom’s official forum, nothing will change. Funcom, please take action. Why not block cheaters’ IP addresses like Rust does?

i gave up on waiting for funcom to do something about cheaters.
i have been reporting cheaters for years, nothing has changed, in fact is even worse.
i tried to get funcom attention on forums,social media, even emails. i never got an official answer and we will never will.
The only way to play the game is on private servers with admins that ban cheaters.

Every cheater runs a VPN. Currently vacuum and one click kill packages are ~$500 a month. There are three high tier cheat providers that have those abilities. Vacuum alone is around ~$200 a month. What people pay for cheats in a damn near dead game amazes me.

The ONLY thing that can be done to stop cheaters is to have unwavering standards, a password protected private PlayStation server, and only allow people access after being sufficiently screened. There is no other way and Funcom has proven they will not or cannot do anything about the cheating. With all of the posts about cheating on this forum, one of the most active members here claimed that he does not know how people on PlayStation cheat or that there is any cheating that can happen with PlayStation. He claimed he never heard of it… in a futile attempt to mortify me. There are some very disingenuous people on this forum.

I have many friends that have come to PC from console. Every single one have told me there are no hackers on console. They do however say people lag switch and exploit.

Lag Switching is cheating. Hardware exploits are cheats also. PlayStation would not have released security updates for cheating devices if they did not exist or are not being used. Certainly, the is far less cheating or “hacking” with PlayStation than PC, but it’s not 100% void of cheaters that use hardware “hacks”.

i’ve always been amazed at the amount of money the hackers spend on cheats in this game. back in the day i though them spending $100 a month to steal pixels was stupid as hell and now they are spending $400-900 a month. even the private servers were getting hit last week

But it’s lucrative. It is a small investment when you get hired to take out the opposing clan(s)/servers.
yeah, i’ve seen several screenshots from players paying hackers to wipe or find other players or clans. even had a clan play a large group irl money to come raid me not very long ago and i imagine that happens just as much or more than people paying the hackers

The difference is, at least for now, is you can sort of avoid the lag and dupers on consiles. Losing everything and characer reset was the game breaking moment i quit altogether on PC. Speed, lag, etc we used to just naked troll those cheaters. But now vacuum and delete of character by just the hacker logging in ended even that morbid fun i had.

Cheaters and grievers are never there to play the game. They are not players. They are there to use the game for reasons other than gaming. They are vile people, most of which are guys that use female characters.

That means that for the violators, it’s not about the game, being it winning or losing. It’s about causing as much grief and stress to other people as possible. Yes, there are people that pay to do it because they like it, not only because somebody paid them to do it. Most cheaters and grievers are not hired digital hitmen.
