After upgrading, the client crashes showing an error message.
I have restarted steam and started the game again, but i get the exact same error.
Is this a pure vanilla game or are there mods involved? If there is a mod, is it one that could have touched the new journey system? I wouldnt think it would crash at start in that case but just checking for more info.
This occurs when starting the game at the loading screen.
I have mods installed, but I think they shouldn’t affect the base load of the game, then when starting on a private server they can crash, but when starting the game on the loading screen right after a big update, what could crash?

Yes, i have mods.
You may have to wait then for all the mods to update, especially if you have a map mod. The new journey system has map dependencies and there is potential for hiccups.

You don’t get it Darthphysicist, he can’t even reach the menu to deactivate the mods, the crash occurs before any menu. I have the exact same issue.

So, I’m going to try to remove all mods and run a file check, to see if it fixes, at least the vanilla base.

Does it occur before you start from the launcher? Mods start loading right away post launcher. As he suggests, the best way to check is remove all the mods and launch single player and see if its base game or mod.

I am going to disable all the mods, from Steam, then I will delete the contents of the mods folder, in my case “/SteamLibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/440900/”
Then I’m going to edit the file → appworkshop_440900.acf
Be careful to respect the basic structure when there are no mods installed.
Then file check on steam… and here i hope have luck.

I play Conan Exiles on GNU/Linux + Proton.
I don’t use the launcher at any time.
This is a bit different.
If you dont use the launcher then it will immediately start loading the mods. What you are doing tho is the best way to find out.
I was making journey steps in my map the last couple weeks and if you insert a step into a preexisting list of steps, there can be a crash as you describe. Your crash is a bit earlier but the error suggests its similar.

The solution, as almost always, was to remove all the mods from the game list and check the files, something normal after a big update.

I have same on and it is after I launch I believe. I get thru the opening seen where conan and the women fight the beasts after she is taken form the cross. Then she stand on a hill over a city and gets new armor on and that’s as far as it goes. 3 dot’s, like a timer continuously going lower left corner, until I close the error screen and it returns me to menu
After the update i play ok after disconect for eat impossible reconnect launcher launch ok but after i can’t connect to funcom.
i clear cache download steam repair up to date game up to date & i control all file folder.
any issue pls ???
