Climbing up past the lip of any ledge works about 30% of the time. It doesn’t get up on to the ledge and ends up sliding down the wall. Tried climbing diagonally, complete flat surfaces and edges and it doesn’t matter.
Yep. Can confirm, Its still bad. simply climbing over a fully cubical foundation piece fails often, let alone any natural surface.
(hint: sometimes it helps if you turn the camera to look down while you go over the lip)
Yes that makes the Jhil vault on Siptah extra spicy
What is your character height?
Female with slightly taller than default height.
I noticed the problem with taller characters too. The taller, the harder it gets.
The stem up offset is fixed for medium sized characters. Small works too, but tall has problems.
I’ll change the height and see how that goes. I appreciate it.
slightly shorter than medium. How can I tell post-creation on an official?
To my experience the height has never affected climbing over the edges. Ive played characters with near maximized height as well. Same thing happens. I admit Ive never played as short as possible characters, but Ive definitely played lots shorter than norm. The idea being that I intentionally made “small women”.
This is interesting. My current character on the server I am playing on as well as the co-op game I am playing with a friend my are both short and do not really have any issues with climbing. Are the taller player models the cause of the climbing issues? ![]()
Matches with what was being said. My character is short as well and similarly no trouble climbing (well, almost no trouble, occassionally there’s just a really uncooperative spot…)
True, I should not have implied that I NEVER experience a time where I drop down rather than crest the edge of the ridge, but it is VERY rare.
I push off ledges in the unnamed city far more often then pull up. Quite often I just have to give up because I am not getting up on that ledge. I curse yet another legacy bug.
Oddly enough I’ve found the failing to go up over the edge while climbing thing to be vastly improved in UE5 and I’m using a max height character.
It still happens but very rarely and as best I recall only when the server has 15’ish plus people on it.
Possibly the new rtx 4060 video card has something to do with it. Though there’s no way I can say for sure.
