Clues to dungeon locations?

Are there ANY clues to dungeon whereabouts? I only found the Dregs because I read a reference to it. I finally figured out the Midnight Grove. I’ve stumbled across the Silver Mine and the Sunken City.

I’m working through the Dungeon Delver journey. Now I’m stuck on the Black Keep, and probably the Well of Skelos.

I’ve not explored the northern areas or the volcano, because wrapping my head around the armor temperature ratings was …. Mind numbing. Swapping armor around, swapping pages, making what armors I could to try and figure out W in T actual F is going on there. ( I know now. Food is key ) is there really no way to compare items or filter the armor bench?

I’m not looking for any spoilers. I’ve been playing single player on a Steam Deck for about 200 hours now. As much as I would enjoy the multiplayer experience, I like the “joy of discovery”. The game has some truly amazing moments. In the course of looking obscured game information up on the internet, Many of those moments were sullied. ( I’m looking at you Dregs entrance ) But, running from a world boss, blind in the dark, hoping the thrall survives can be pretty exhilarating.

So, are there clues to these locations, or is it just blind luck to find them?

For the Black Keep….I circled al’Merayahu looking for a way in, tore up the Black Galleon, found the Den under what looked like a keep, found Petrusco, found the bat tower with its mysterious altar.

I’m ready to build a siege engine or find a way to blow a hole in Merayahu, but that seems a bit excessive for the third dungeon….

Thanks in advance for any tips! Now, go crush your enemies!

Not really. There’s vague mentions in notes you find throughout the map but not specific instructions for the most part.

You’ll need to explore more. Travel northwards more. If it looks like an interactive door then try it ^^

Some are vaguely alluded to on the great markers left by the Giant Kings and Lemurians.
Some of those markers are underwater or partially buried.
One is mentioned in a ledger on a desk.

As for weather protection, this one would prefer if the pre crafting descriptions were more utile.
But food is much more impactful than all but legendary/end game dungeon armours

The lore stones give very very vague clues to locations but most of said clues exist at the dungeon which kind of defeats the point. If you want to outright know then someone posted a map already. If you want hints I could try if you want.

Dang, that’s kinda sad. I’ve been reading everything I come across. Sometimes I get an “Interact”, but nothing happens other than getting trapped in my horse, haha. I’ll try north and poke around some more. I’ll probably throw in the towel and look it up at some point. Or move to another game.

Drive your enemies to their knees!

The temperature effects icons (orange and blue sticks in the description) have opposite meanings for food and armor.
For food and drink, they mean warming (orange sticks) or cooling (blue sticks).
For armor they mean protection, i.e. blue sticks mean protection from the cold and, accordingly, an increase in temperature, orange sticks mean the opposite.

Try the map in the first comment.

Otherwise, The Black Keep is across the Bridge of the Betrayer in E11. Climb ALL the stairs to the top, run into the alcove and down the stairs to the wall. Hit the button and be transported inside. You will have to do a good bit of exploring to get the Ancient Key to open the door an play with the boss. Watch for traps. There are many hidden doors that open with a button.

The Wine Cellar is behind the bar in Sepermeru. That’s a last do kind of place.

Warmaker’s is in B8. Run into the alcove, press the button, and be prepared to have fun. Skip the Arena Champion if you are a first timer. Seriously, run past that chick and don’t stop. She’s past the second locked door all alone in the middle of the big room.

FUN FACT - To complete the Dungeon Delver Journey, you only have to kill the end boss.

Stick of Annoyance + 5 from the Dregs gives some vague clues to dungeons iirc

If you see “Interact” but can’t find what to click try looking down. Some of the books on the ground are brown books on brown dirt. Can be hard to notice even when you know it’s there.

Try going through a big bridge that crosses from a tundra region to the frozen north. The bridge is a point of interest. Be prepared when you cross that bridge. At the middle, you pass through the coldest spot in the map. It’s just that spot, but it will kill you if you don’t have a proper armor or spicy food.
Then keep going North.
Go prepared for a fight.
I don’t want to spoil it for you, but if you get bored of looking, just say and I’ll give you the precise directions.

The game could definitely offer some clues to dungeons… but on the other hand that kind of stuff is what rewards exploring.

I cant remember how long it took me to find wine cellar. I think I had well over 1500 hours in the game at that point.

There’s a note on the bar counter that hints to it.
Usually people watch YouTube and already know where’s everything. It’s very rewarding not doing it on our initial playthroughs. Playing blind, no hurries and discovering stuff is really worth it. It passes fast and we will never be able to repeat it, right @Smoketreader ?

If you met the Shaman Nunu (hangs out at Shaman’s Rise) near the shattered bridge on noob river, he teaches Yog’s religion and gives wise words of wisdom about the lotus flower. He suggest drinking the lotus flower for guidance. Yes, drinking the colorful flowers will lead you to each dungeon.

Also, the ‘stick of annoyance’ mentioned above will also give you tips of guidance. However, I don’t recall if the game hints on how to activate the ‘stick’ (Staff of the Triumvante)

I’m not sure if this is still working or not. But…

Drinking a lotus potion will cause a small pillar of smoke to come out of you, which will drift towards a dungeon.

Different lotus potions go to different dungeons.

Nav Sat powered by farts, @Caffeine !
I never saw that effect, but my character will drink a potion in minutes just to see such wonder.

Keep exploring. I love the way you play. Take no spoilers, enjoy, win, loose, kill, die. Fix your own experience and when you finish come here for “more”. The way you chose to play is the best, keep it going, Bravo.

Thanks! I WAS playing on a steamdeck. The recent patch seems to have messed that up. In the process of trying to get it running again, I believe I have lost all my progress. At this point, I’m trying to decide if I want to continue.

It is a fun game with some amazing moments. At times, I felt like I was in a Frazetta painting.
