I’m sure most gamers have at some point been accused of cheating, I’ve been reported a few times on Xbox live by people who were sure I was cheating. No action was ever taken against me because I wasn’t cheating.

Fact. I got accused of hacking/cheating all the time in the FPS world. Folks didn’t understand that using a trackball allowed for more fluid aiming and movement so just screamed I was using an aim hack.

Different tactics lead to different results and not knowing something is possible can often lead folk to believe anyone doing it is hacking.

There is nothing wrong with discussing cheating, the problem with naming people who you believe are cheating is double.

The first problem is obvious, some people will just accuse others they don’t like of cheating, using the court of public opinion to try to force the other player out of the game

The second is more subtle, it’s when people are being honest and wholeheartedly believe the person they are accusing is cheating, but they are incorrect. Maybe it was lag that caused them to think the other player was cheating, but it could be a number of different things

Exactly. Funcom has given us a path to resolve accusations without it become a constant forum flameware.

Please keep PvP on the game and not on the forums.
Do not abuse flagging either.

And please, keep official server infractions, accusations, and other similar stuff to Zendesk, where our team there can deal with it.
